how much would it cost per ride? and is this really in the talks, or is this just a random poll that was made up.

Be careful. I've seen this before in other towns without bus service. As soon as the bus starts running an influx of undesirables arrives. And they don't leave.

what do you mean concerned? We are just hoping this thread is real so we can actually get out and do some shopping out of this town, highway robbery.

Joshua Shamblin of the Clay Town Council has said he would back a KRT bus route. Stop fighting over dust, start working to better our county.

Buses equals cheap transport, cheap transport equals access to decent paying jobs. Not grubbing for sub-minimum wage while worrying yourself to a premature old age over your family's expenses.

Decent jobs means the count's the county's base raises. That means the county has more money to better Clay County, with more
things like animal shelters, better police protection and the like. In turn, this attracts businesses to Clay, which gives our people an alternative to welfare, SSI, drugs, and crime.

The undesirables came here when the first oxcarts rattled over these mountains. It is time we made change our slave, let's work for a KRT bus for Clay County

If we work to make it so, it will be so.

KRT would have gone belly up along time ago if the taxpayers in Wv were not footing the bill for them to operate. They barely make fuel bills on the buses from the people riding them so what makes anyone think a bus to Clay would be a wise move for KRT?

Half the people in the county would have to ride the bus to pay for it.

It would be a good option for college students. Being able to ride the bus would allow them to stay at home, which would save money that otherwise would be spent on a dorm, and they wouldn't have to have a car or pay for gas money. It would allow for more oppurtunities for kids who really try hard.

It'd also work out nice for the elderly who have doctors appointments in Charleston!

I still have not heard if this is really in the talks or not? I have not heard any of the big shots in clay talking about it yet.

KRT buses always are packed by the time they hit Charleston, therefore, they are earning enough money to make ends meet. I know, I ride the KRT from Clendenin to Charleston, to help my Dad save on the gas. He picks me up at a pre-arragned time at Clendenin. I'm legally blind, can't drive.

Understand: we will never have buses every 10 minutes like Los Angeles, California. But we could a bus that goes Monday-Friday to and from Charleston.

The schedule could be: 7 a.m. Clay-Charleston
9 a.m .Charleston-Clay
11 a.m. Clay-Charleston
3 p.m. Charleston-Clay
4:30 p.m. Clay-Charleston
5:30 p.m. Charleston-Clay
7:00 p.m. Clay-Charleston.
The last bus could be the 7 P.M. bus.

Even a bus that came only to Clay or only to
Bickmore would be an improvement.

WE need to keep this concept. Mitch Deboard supports this idea, too. Let's face it, city water, the Fred Sampson Lake, and trash pick up; and the aforementioned have failed to better Clay County. Start doing exact things with exact expectations and clay County will get better.

it would be great to be able to get out of clay county but remember the bus runs both ways. People and more drugs come in too
