How could Shannon take Donnas life.A woman he was suppose to have loved. And to leave Megan with out a mother.I can not imagine the hell Carol and Donald and Megan are going Through. And how can he sat in the court room and smile. Is beyond me.

I agree. I am from Powell county and they lived less than 5 minutes from my home, and the murder took place less than 10 minutes from me. I think that shannon definately got a unfair ruling. They gave him 40 for murder, 20 for kidnapping, and then they will also give him a sentence for arson. I would have gaven him life in jail or the death penalty. This isnt just a everyday murder, if there was such. He held her hostage all morning at gun point, then when she had a chance to get away he chased her down, shooting her several times AFTER she had wrecked, and then for her family and friends to be crying in the court room and he just smiles? She was a very loved woman and will be missed by many!

I REALLY HATE IT I REMEMBER THE DAY IT HAPPENED BECAUSE I WAS WORKING AT SAMARITAN HOSPITAL AND THERE WAS SECURITY EVERYWHERE. IF SHE HAD HAVE BEEN AN ANIMAL AND HE HAD BEEN BLACK THEN THEY WOULD HAVE THROWN THE BOOK AT HIM! THATS THE WAY IT GOES NO ONE VALUES HUMAN LIVES ANYMORE!

i also work at samaratin. donna and i were pretty good friends. we had a close circle. she came into the hospital the night before shannon came into her house. we all hung around for a little while, then she went on home. i remember getting the phone call that next day. life is so unfair. if any one knew donna, then they knew what kind of hell she had to deal with on a regular basis. shannon knew exactly what he was gong to do. he told her on numerous occasions he would kill her if she ever left him. well, the police never took that in to account. shannon had this evilness plotted out from the beginning. he won't make it through jail. word will get around, and he'll get his turn. donna's second anniversary of her death is approaching soon, and i'll never forget her! we will always love tammy faye!!!

Donna is my 1st cousin. This whole story turns my stomach! I remember getting the call from my dad...I knew something was wrong. He started with "well, are you sitting down?"

I hadn't seen Donna since we were kids, but I knew what kind of person she was. Shannon is going to rot in prison...he deserves no less!

I am a first cousin of Donna's. I grew up very closely with Donna and admired her very much. I admired her for her beauty, her wittiness, her passion for becoming a mom, her devotion for helping people in need, and her overall personality. Anyone who knew Donna knows what I mean by her overall personality. When you met Donna you just knew you would never meet anyone else like her. Our entire family misses her very much and I know there is not a day that goes by I don't think of her and pray she's ok in heaven and I hope she knows her daughter is as beautiful as she was. There is still a piece of Donna living through her daughter and I am greatful we still have Megan. I keep a picture of Donna and Megan in my office drawer to remind me each day how lucky I was to have been part of her life. I will carry Donna in my heart and memories forever.
