His wounds didn't win

“Urgent Prayer Request! Please pray for Travis and his family members.”

Just after dawn on May 18, 2005, Army Spec. Travis Fugate's face was blown apart by shrapnel from a roadside bomb in Iraq.

It took out the Knott County native's right eye and battered the retina of his left. It crushed the bone around his eyes, his nose, and his forehead and bruised the frontal lobe of his brain.

In the hours and weeks that followed, Fugate, then 21 and a soldier in the Kentucky National Guard, was so near death, so disoriented, that he didn't realize he was blind.

'It took a long time for me to realize that I couldn't see,' says Fugate. 'A long time.' Read more

Yes,indeed, a whole new future in horror films reaches out to this disfigured jerk.
Maybe he could pose for posters showing what a duped sucker looks like -to be hung in schools throughout the country to dissuade similar-minded cretins from joining the pack of murdering filth.
Hi timmy,
What had this fool's helping the illegal occupation of Iraq to do with the so-called " war on terror?" Did the Iraqis do something to offend him, sometime? Eh?

I do not know this young hero; however, to go into a war zone on the order of your superiors is honorable. All soldiers in any country who fight for their country are heroes. War is tragic. Whether or not the side you fight for is victorious the committment a soldier has for his fellows soldier is the measure. I recall reading in history books that the UK once had "illegal occupations" in a large majority of the world; I doubt any soldier who fought for the crown would be criticized if they fought honorable.
