Hinesville...the blackhole. Hinesville the parasitic city.
INFLATION IS THE MILITARY'S FAULT.
You can complain all you want, but nothing will change. You can blame anyone, the army, the blacks, the whites, the mexicans, the Patels and it won't matter, bc this is still HINESVILLE.
Do you know why a movie at Liberty Cinema is 10 bucks? well its actually two reasons, 1 THE SOLDIERS WILL PAY $10 A MOVIE and 2 bc they don't have any competition, but thats just economic law.
Do you know why the rent off base is $750-$1400 a month!? BC the military's BAH will pay for it!
What? You're a US Soldier who isn't married?
THATS OK! YOU AND X AMOUNT OF YOUR SINGLE ARMY PALS CAN SECRETLY MOVE OFF BASE AND RENT TOGETHER. BARRACKS ARE THAT MUCH EASIER TO MAINTAIN WHEN YOU NEVER SLEEP THERE.
IT'LL BE GREAT, YOU CAN PARTY ALL THE TIME, EVERY NIGHT, ALL NIGHT! FUCK THE NEIGHBORS! YOU DESERVE IT, YOU EARNED THE RIGHT TO BE VULGAR AND OBNOXIOUS, TO ACT APPALINGLY IN PUBLIC.
When you enlisted in the ARMY you knew that you may get deployed. When you were stationed at Fort Stewart, you were almost guaranteed a Combat Action Ribbon.
Hinesville doesn't hate soldiers.
Hinesville hates the sense of entitlement that soldiers wear on there chest today.
Hinesville is made up of Veterans and their dependants who, for some reason I'll never understand (thanks Dad), decided to stay here when they got out or retired, to say all of Hinesville hates soldiers is a stretch.

Good grief, rent sure has gone up! I just hope the rentals are in much better shape then they were when I lived there!

Come walk a day in my shoes, will you? Seriously, you have issues if you blame the Army.
If we wear entitlements on our chest, I'd like to see them. Because you are WAY off base! Let me also tell you, if you think for one second that our BAH covers our rent you are sadly mistaken!
Remember if it wasn't for the ARMY being in this shit hole town, there wouldn't be a town.

Let me correct you, Hinesville was a nice little town when Ft. Stewart was still small Camp Stewart. I can't deny that there has been a lot of money made because of the base, but if you ask those who have been around for decades they will tell you that they wished it was like it was before the base enlarged. If you don't like Hinesville, that's your problem. Nobody asked you to move here. As for your BAH not covering your rent, the rest of us have NO supplements to help pay our rent/mortgage. Stop complaining. Nobody owes you anything and nobody cares if you live here or not.

I have not walked in your shoes, but I have walked in your husband's! BAH was put in place specifically for off post housing allowances. Not knowing your husband's rank or the amount of rent you were suckered into, I can't tell you where you blow all that money.
As an E4, 1077 is more than enough for rent on a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house, however that may not cover the tag/note/insurance on your brand new car or what you owe RAC or Aaron's.

There are good houses in Hinesville for an E3 E4 if you are willing to pay a couple hundred extra for utilities. Gas South and Georgia Power are ranked as some of the most expensive in the country. Also, the city water company here is the only company I have ever heard of not willing to work with a family with a need for a 10 day grace period. They have even shut down the office early or for a full day. Don't try to call at the end of the day, they go out of their way to get off by 5. I drive two cars that I paid cash for years before I joined the Army, by the way. And for some reason they chose to put almost every school either on a "major highway" or a cul de sac just off of said highway and crossing guards basically cut off traffic in all directions for an hour.
