The latest from the "Sun" is that the town council is heating up again to annex.

The town will file with the VA Commission on Local Government to apparently force the county to come to some resolution. The county has spoken and sides with the property owners in enforcing the 75% property owner approval.

Next step for the town is a court battle.
So the town has the money to waste in court making lawyers more wealthy???

They claim they need to expand to "help" grow the area. Baloney. More money in their hands is what they are after, pure and simple.

It's hilarious how their plans include the annexation of north of Buffalo Rd. EXCEPT they want to jump over Conifer Cove. Well how many Clarksville big wheels live there??

The interests want their cake and everyone elses as long as the town stays out of their area.

What a crock.

And lets not forget the reports of town water being less than totally healthy as reported in the Sun earlier this year. So they want to force that on people too??

There's more than enough evidence to show what this annexation is about, pure greed.

I hope the county supports it's citizens in this fight and stands up to these bullying tactics.

Well the town is going to try and put the heat on the county again as reported by the Sun paper.

Hat's off to the county for trying to protect it's citizens interests and rights.

So do the new lines include Conifer Cove where the Clarksville affluent live or is it being skipped over again?

How many people will you Clarksville mayor and town council try to force your stinking chlorinated water on? Your sewer service no one wants, your trash "service" that damages people's containers, your constantly raising taxes and water bills??????

We don't need, want, desire anything to do with being a citizen of Clarksville.

Town Manager Melinda Moron is now gone!! And the new interim has a long road ahead of him but I am sure the town will see a difference in projects being completed and in a very good way!

Every think of boycotting businesses owned by the Mayor and Town council members who prey on non-residents with double water/sewer bills because they can't tax them? Time to hit them where it hurts, in their business wallets.

Victim of town, if your water/sewer bills are double that would mean that you are not in town but are recieveing town services without being taxed. Become part of the town and your water bill/sewer bill will be cut in half but you will be taxed. HINT* Town tax + standard water/sewer is less expensive than double water and sewer rates. Or you could move. Chase City looks like such a nice place to live.

I have to ask, who gave the town permission to run water and sewer OUTSIDE of town limits to begin with? What right do they have to take it upon themselves to do so? How do they have the ability to do so? If they can do that then they are able to set themselves up to do about anything they want to do and that should NOT be!

See in the SUN paper that the town is "discussing" a 44% raise in sewer rates. 44 PERCENT!

Why don't they just do like Obama and raise the rates of the big wheels that live in conifer cove?

Oh yeah, they don't love "in town" and the town is skipping over them in their latest bid for annexation.

Isn't that convenient..........

And while you were watching this Mayor Allgood just raised your garbage collection by 20% while he sits in his pharmacy laughing at you.

And as to an earlier post asking about water and sewer rates outside of town, no one asked the town to take over. The people outside the town limits got their water and sewer just fine before the town decided to take over and at much lower rates.

Yep. Raised that rate yet they can't hire anyone to simply pick up a trash container and dump it in a truck without tearing the container all to heck.

My mom's have busted handles and split sides from their mishandling.

I bet they handle Allgood's and the rest of those high and mightys without breaking them.
