Please keep us updated on the person that committed this horrible crime. Is he here illegally? What will happen to him if he is illegal?
Shane was a wonderful person and has met such a tragic death. How horrible could it be to bleed to death on the street in your home town?I can make no sense of this what-so-ever! And God bless his Father, Mike, and what he must be dealing with. My prayers and heart go out to him.
Please up-date this story often for those of us that do not live in Clarksville and do not get a local paper. This story has not been covered on any network news I can find and it is a shame the political leaders of our country do not know about this. "Where is the damn fence" to keep these people out of OUR country! It is just not fair! They drive around with no licenses, cause mor drunk driving accidents than any other group of people, and they still keep coming and coming, having babies and more babies to stay in our country!

According to the police report, the suspect is a Native American, so "he" was here before "us" and "we" were the immigrants.

It doesn't make this story any more or less tragic.

I can't remember the details I got from another local paper, so I'll post again when I have that info.

You do not know whether I was there or not, and if the murderer is a legal citizen then he can be charged as such. This was NOT A TRAGIC "ACCIDENT" it was murder! I certainly don't blame Mexico for anything, but rather blame the US for no better border control, which is why we have so many ILLEGAL MEXICANS in this country.

I did not know Shane and I do not live in Clarksville. I heard of his tragic death from a friend. It is not Mexico's fault or the Native American's fault that this heathen committed such a crime. We need to stop looking at the world as a whole with such hatred and rascism and start concentrating on the individuals that actually cause these problems. I know you are heartbroken and upset but you are only adding fuel to the fire by your negative comments of other cultures and races. Stop being a hater and start doing something positive in your life to express to people that murder is a sin and it is wrong no matter what nationality you are! Spread peace Shirleybug not hate. God bless you! My sympathy goes out to the family of Shane.

>>>> I am not spreading hate nor picking on a nationality but mearly speaking the truth about ou border controls which help to make you fell safe in this country. Whether that comes down to Shane's murder or 9-11.You may call it hate, I call it practicality. The death of one citizen at the hand of another is murder pure and simple, but when that murder is committed by someone who already committed the crime of crossing our border illegally, then the punishment should extend beyond the murderer to those who permit (even, encourage) illegals to cross our borders and wait for amnesty. There will be no amnesty waiting for Shane. The real criminals are our elected "representatives" who permit this senseless slaughter of Americans to continue unabated.
BUILD THE FENCE - BUILD IT NOW, and end these all-too-frequent tragedies.

Shane was a beligerant, mentally ill person with a violent history, who abused street drugs and alcohol. People who cared for him should have seen that he was treated properly instead of overlooking his problem because he was a good ol' boy.

Thanks for the diagnosis, doc. There's no denying Shane had a hot temper. I've personally seen him try to settle more than a few disagreements with his fists. And yes, like many of his friends who grew up in rural Virginia, he was into drugs. Could he have benefitted from some treatment? Sure. Does that make him mentally ill? Possibly. Does blaming a stabbing on the victim and his grieving loved ones on public forum make you an asshole? Yep.
Shane was good soul, and in spite of his problems I am proud to count myself as one of his many friends.

Shane was a great person! Everone has things in their past and I am happy to report there was no alcohol or drugs in his system at the time of death. Also, the criminal that did this is from Costa Rico and is in this country illegally.

Last time I checked, I wasn't a saint either, but I hope that doesn't mean I deserve to be stabbed to death on the street. Sheesh!

>>> You're right, Beatrice, it's not Mexico's fault - they're simply letting their unwanted to leave the country unimpeded. The real fault lies with our spineless politicians in Washington who've done virtually nothing to prevent 10's of millions of these crime and disease-ridden, drug-toting, identity-thieving vermin to enter our once great country. They could close the border in days if they really wanted to.....but they won't, becuase it serves THEIR interests, and not ours, to keep this invasion going full-force.
Soon, it will be "press 2 for English".....think about it. If you have friends/family and you care about THEIR future, get off your high horse and join the citizen's movement to return these people to the countries they came from. If they want to come here, they can apply for a resident visa like everyone else in the world must do to be compliant with our national laws. Have a good deay, Senora Beatrice.

Tim, I guess Shane must have kicked your ass before. I am one of Shane's good ol' boys and would love to kick it again. Keep his name out of your mouth or you will find something else in it!!!!!

The accused needed an interperter for court although it was stated by officers that he did not need one since his arrest. Thus he is NOT a native American and YES he is her illegally. He has a public defender out of Lawrenceville.

Andy/Sherry will be going to court again and will let me know the date.
