Josh also had part of his left leg amputated from the knee down , a shunt placed in his head, half of his pancreas and half of his colon removed, and he's in a chemical induced comma.

My father was the soldier who applied the initial first aid to Joshua Castle's leg, and was joined by two other soldiers to assist him, one a Staff Sergeant, and the other a retired Major and NWHS JROTC instructor. A woman offered comfort by talking to him while they helped him. The boy was struck while trying to cross the highway to get to school. He was an avid walker, and often chose to do so. Unfortunately, with daylight savings time, dawn was not until 7:06, 20 minutes after the accident originally took place. Joshua was also wearing a dark sweater and hood, and it was early and quite dark outside, with the glare of many headlights in every direction. Alcohol and speeding were not a factor here-and so it all played out into a terrible tragic accident. However there is hope, and a fund is being set up in the boy's name here in Clarksville. My parents visited him in Vanderbilt last night, and although I can give no details on his condition, they said he was "improving". I'm hoping through media coverage, the community of Clarksville and of Middle Tennessee can pull together, to put this boy on the fast track to a full recovery.

Are you kidding? The gender-biased media here would rather drum up support for a female child molester/rapist or a female murderer than showcase the plight of a male!
