I own Tennessee Gun Country and I would like to address some of the comments that have been made here. First of all, we try to have good customer service. If we fail to greet you when you walk in the door it might be that we are with another customer and didnít see you come in. If I look like I am on the computer and donít see you it is probably because I am trying my best to find guns and ammo to stock my shelves with. Now ask yourself thisÖhow many times have I greeted you when you walked in and you just ignored me? It happens to me all day, every day.
If I donít know something about the gun that you are interested in I will tell you that. I am not going to make something up to get a sale. I have never shot 95% of the guns in my store. I personally donít own a firearm in 40 S&W caliber so I wonít know how one shoots. I also wonít give you my opinion on a firearm or recommend that you buy this one or that one because I donít want you to buy something based on what I think. If you get it home and you donít like it then it is all my fault. How dare I talk you into buying that gun when I should have known that you wouldnít like it.
When I recommend that you go to a gun smith at Guns and Leather in Greenbrier, I am doing so knowing that he offers very good service at good prices. I am not a gun smith. I personally donít know any that are local that I can recommend. I do know some that I wonít recommend because their work is not satisfactory to me. Again, how dare I recommend someone who will ruin your firearm that needs to be repaired.
The person that talked about his background check taking to long? It didnít take too long. He was denied. And yes, I sold the Mosin Nagant rifle that he had wanted. I cannot afford to hold the firearms when a person gets denied because 95% of the time they never get their background check overturned. If I were to hold the firearms then I would have to hold them for 30 days, or until the overturn came back because that is how long the background check is good for. In the year 2012 we had over 100 people fail their background check. That means that I have over 1oo guns on hold waiting to see if they might get overturned. That is bad business.
What I find really interesting about all of these posts is that when someone says something positive about Tennessee Gun Country they get bashed. The people that come into my store every day and have a great experience and save money wonít post anything about it. They know that we bust our butts to help our customers. We offer discounts to military, law enforcement, fire fighters, EMTSs etc. Do we have to? No, it is just our way of saying thank you for serving. We give them a 10% discount, which is more than any of the other gun stores in the area do.

You say his store, his rules. This posting TN Gun Country made about their rules is fair. Don't treat people like their objects, their the rudest human beings I ever met. He doesnt confess to that. I will never step foot in there again.

I went in there and did a background check and supposedly failed. I've never been to jail, never had a DUI, I've never been charged and I have a Twic card which is a high security clearance. He was being a real douche bag from the start. He went and got the gun while the background check was scanning and on his way back to the front I ask for ammo and he said real agressively I couldn't buy any because it would be a felony for him to sell it to me because I didn't pass the background. He hadn't even made it back to the comp when he said that. He was so arrogant with his choice of words and I felt like he was running me out the store with his aggression and attitude. He gave me a receipt for the background, there is no tracking number on it, no NICS number, the status is blank, I mean it just a receipt saying I paid 10.00 to him, it's a worthless piece of paper. He said he'd call me in a few days and let me know why I failed and it has been 5 days and I've heard nothing. I do not believe I failed the background and he probally put that 10.00 in his pocket, and the reason I don't trust him is because he treated me like he didn't want to sell it to me from the start by being very disrespectful to me and showing aggression and disrespect towards my fiancťe. Im a hardworking citizen that makes 90,000 a yr., raising a family, that's never been in trouble at all with the law and I left there feeling like a fugitive and belittled.

Why not be an adult and speak with Dave and give him and his employees and opportunity to address your issues. Did you read what he wrote? He is approachable and all of them are nice guys.

We've been there many times and he has never been rude to me and he didn't pocket the $10.00. The TBI requires that fee and it belongs to them. It is up to you to find out why you were denied. Did you file an appeal? Did you a t like a. DB? Were you aggressive and become rude and loud when you denied? Was you fiance rude and have an attitude after you were denied? Based on you comment it seems that you have a bit of a temper. So you alledgedly make $90,000 a year. That proves nothing. Your denial has nothing to do with Tennessee Gun Country. It could simply be a clerical error with TBI or a snafu in the system. It could also be an old incident from years ago that you forgot about. This does happen. You must to tje foot work and determine what the problem is. You got angry and your temper got the best of you. This opinion is based upon the tone of your post. Chill out and solve the problem.

One of my friends @ work ccc999 said the woman @ Allen's is just as horrible as these guys @ tn gun country, and for you to be here sticking up for them and getting defensive, it's almost like your not who your portraying yourself to be. Your probally one of the DB. Ppl are gonna express their opinion. Anyone reading this, if you do decide to go to tn gun country you better leave your feelings @ the house, cause these guys are lacking human emotions. This ccc999 is probally the owner sticking up for his business or its the owner of Allen gun shop and their friends, so don't respect their customer review.

BIG IRON MUNITIONS. They don't have much in stock, but they are very knowledgeable and very polite. Their gunsmith even came out to tell me how to fix my problem simpler and cheaper than having him work on it, and suggested a web site to order my own parts. I'd trust that guy to work on my gun. I've never had a question that the owner didn't have an answer for. He and his employees deserve to grow. Check them out. I'm AD stationed at FT Camp, nothing to gain BTW
Big Iron Munitions have nothing that resembles gun smiths. If you want some window liking retard banging around on your firearm and for it to come back in worse shape then you brought it, then by all means take it to Big Iron.

I think we can all agree, get rid of the fellow with glasses and his pants up around his nipples and the customer service problem will be 99.9% taken care of. Everybody else there will take time to help you and answer your questions. Pants nips on the other hand acts like your waisting his time for him to even acknowledge your existence. The prices are great and they treat Mil and LEA great. Just fit rid of Pants Nips or send him to a ladies reform school to teach him some common manners and that will take care of the problem.

@Josh, if you read my original post regarding Allen's gun shop you would have noted that I was only making a review based upon an experience that my husband and I witnessed that was not directed at us but was directed at one of her employees that was very unprofessional. My original review has spiraled into finger pointing and drug Tennessee Gun Country into it. We have had good experiences there. Those who have not must take this up with Dave. He has stated on this forum that he is open to improving customer relations and will fix what has been making customers happy within reason without compromising his stores standards and security. Read his post above^. No, I'm not the owner of Allen's or TGC nor am I a DB. Those who have became angry at my review of Allen's are more than likely the owner or her friends. My review stands and I refuse to call you an AH as it would be unbecoming of me to do so.

Why must you be so cruel? You feel describe someone in such a disrespectful manner and expect to have your issue with their customer service taken seriously? We have grown to know this man who you show know no respect for and he's a good guy. I doubt he will lose his job and I'm sure he can stand up for himself but I think you lost all credibility with your rude comments directed at one person who was not even involved in my original post which was regarding our visit to Allen's Gun Shop and started on another thread. Why some individuals find the need to twist my words regarding that review and come here and get personal only shows the lack of respect not only for other's but for yourselves. If people would take the time to actually read my 1st post on the "Allen's Gun Shop" thread than it would make it more clear. Also I am NOT Mrs. Allen (who I will not describe as one must see for themselves) and I'm not Dave at Tennessee Gun Country. My husband and I are consumers and we still shop at Allen's but the way she treats her employees is appaulling. In no way will we penalize the employees by boycotting a business but as she is not approachable I feel that our experience is worthy of a review.

I ahve never, and I will never, tell a person that fails their background check (BGC) that I will let them know why they failed. What I will tell them is that overturns USUALLY take 5 - 10 days. I am as discreet as I can be whn I do tell a customer that they failed their BGC. I ALWAYS let them know that they can fill out an appeal form and that I will gladly fax it to TBI for them. Yes, if you fail your BGC, you cannot buy ammo. That is a federal law. Even if you are trying to purchase a handgun and fail, you cannot legally purchase rifle ammo. I will not risk losing my license to make a couple of bucks by selling you ammo. I will try my best to be discreet about this oo. Unfortunately some people make a scene about failing. They asure me that they have never been in any kind of trouble. They have never been arrested by the police. I try to help them figure out why they might have failed and give them info on how they MIGHT be able to fix the problem. We had over 100 people fail their BGC last year. About half were mistakes on behalf of the TBI or the person thought that what had happened in the past was expunged from their records. I understand that this happens. the other half were legitimate denials. People who have felony convictions. People who have been arrested for anything from domestic violence to assault. People with outstanding traffic citations will get denied and usually the police will show up to take them away. If you have any outstanding warrents they will come to get you too. And I mean get you in my store.
The bottom line is that I will help you IF I can to get your BGC overturned. I will not bend any rules to do this. And the bottom line is that if you have a problem with me or any of my staff then ceom in and tell me. Don't post on the web what you are afraid to tell me to my face.

Hmmm... Some of y'all must either be smoking something funny, or just be too damned hard to please. Because I, my wife, and my daughter were just in TN Gun Country yesterday, 2/12/12, and were treated as well as I've ever been in ANY store or business.
I'd bought a gun from Davidsons and had it delivered there simply because it was close by. I had never dealt with them before and didn't know what to expect.
What I got was polite, respectful, and very helpful service. The fellow dealing with us even helped my wife to pick out a gun that suited her.( Her first, btw.)
There was no pressure, no odd/poor comments or looks. Only attentiveness and an effort to help.
In the end, they sold us 2 guns, and saved us a bit of money to boot. What more could you ask.

And no, I don't work for them or have any connection to them at all... other than being a satisfied customer.

I and my family will certainly be returning any time we need something firearm-related.

I have been in the store 2 times, once in uniform and once as a retiree about three years apart. I did not break any of the rules, selected my items, paid and left. The experience was so that I will not go back. I will not be talked down to, ignored, or treated as an interruption to a BS conversation between employees. The owner can make all the excuses he wants, act like he cares and is making changes, but I know several people who feel as I do, itís just talk. They rely, as do many a bad business around the world, on the turn over of military personnel to keep in business. Word of mouth does not spread fast enough, but that is changing. I do like Grandpas.

I experienced excellent customer service on gun, ammo, and accessary purchases and even when I just want to see a product out of curiosity. The owner is very direct, which is an excellent quality, he dont waste my time. I appreciate them not marking up prices on ammo like other store have done. I agree, keep your britches pulled up over your backside like you have some sense!

First, Im retired Military and have been in the area on ad off since 1994. I have no interest in the business of TN Gun Country, just a satisfied customer. I have dealt with just about every gun store in Clarksville and Oak Grove.

I want everyone to know the good service I got at TN Gun Country. The geeted me when I walked in and made eye contact. I was interested in a Glock 21, which they had in stock. Less than 20 minutes later I alked out with my new G21 at a great price. A year later, I returned to TN Gun Country to purchase a G26 for my wife. Again, greeted when I made eye contact- and they were busy. 20 minutes later, again out the door with the new G26 in hand.
I purchased a Pierce extension for one of the magazines but had difficulty installing it, which the guys at TN Gun country did for free, other than a good ribbing...

One of the things I admire the most about them is they refuse to gouge heir customers even in an environment where they could basically name their price on guns and ammo. When other shops were charging $35 for a PMAG, they were still slling them for $17.95- the same price they were selling them before the Sandy Hook shooting and the 'panic'.

Their ammo remains the same price as before; TN Gun country obviously values their customers and knows they will remember them being fair once the panic is over.

Don't like people that will tell you the truth and won't blow smoke up your 4th point of contact? Then don't go to TN Gun County; go somewhere that the folks there will tell you what you want to here whether they have frst hand knowledge or not of what they are spouting.

As for me and mine TN Gun Country is our gun store.
