I'm certain I'll be crucified for this response however i STILL live in America and (as far as I know) have a voice. HOORAY for the Mayor, he is the head of a city who has one of the largest Military installations in the country. I would be VERY upset if he didn't have an opinion. It's STILL our country for crying out loud. Only advise I'd give the Mayor...perhaps some of the friends on yoru list should be...."deleted."

CAIR is a Hamas front group. Allowing a statement from CAIR lends credence to that organization. Using a quote from CAIR is tantamount to reporting a quote from Al-Qaeda on this issue.

Enough is Enough! My country is based on Christian values, Christian morals and Christian ethics. Those factors are what allow you musliams and converts to have the freedoms you do in my country. They do not warrant you to have your muslim practices made into a national observance. The Christian foundation of my country will not be set aside for you or anyone else. Mind what you do, for the "Beast" wakens.

Actually, our country was founded in part in pursuit of religious freedom, as well as to create a government whose laws were not dictated by any individual church. Your upset that a muslim faith may be highlighted on a stamp, but you'de be furious if anyone tried to protest a stamp commerating a Christian holiday (and I'm well aware that this has probably happened at some point). Kind of hypocritical, don't you think?

Actually if you will read and understand American history, you'll find that Christian values are what gave rise to religious freedom in our founding. Without the Christian values there would have been no religious freedom. If you doubt this check the constitutions of countries not founded on Christian values. Some examples might be Saudi Arabia. Iran, Indonesia. Syria. China. North Korea, etc.

We have religious freedom and freedom of speech in America. I see no big deal in a new stamp and the Mayor has a right to object to it, "That's His Right". We have to may stamps as it is and most people these days use the forever stamp. Besides, only certain collectors will buy this new stamp. Maybe it will make money for the post office. What if the Post Office issued a new JESUS stamp? We all know what would happen. People would object, but that is our right to object. The key word is "Freedom of Speech" and Religion.

We are NOT a MUSLIM nation and we are NOT going to become a MUSLIM nation. This is AMERICA! REMEMBER???? This mayor has NO misconceptions, we didn't attack the Muslims, they attacked us. What has happened to common sense. We do not mistreat the ones that live here, but by GOD we don't have to HONOR the RELIGION with a stamp. WHAT ABOUT CHURCH AND STATE ON THIS ISSUE? Where is the ACLU when we need them - probably at a Veteran Cemetary ripping off crosses!

The time that our country is trying to heal the relationships, dialogue and understand muslim commuinties, it is all of us responsibility to have tollerance for all relgions. Islam teaches forgiveness and peace as most relegions do the same. The comments from Mayor Piper shows that we have lots of work ahead of us in education and tollerace. Our country has many muslims that support freedom, peace and liberty. Our arm forces has many muslims. Our country has been made of all relegions under flag of the United States of America. That's why it makes us the best country in the world as we stand united. I remember several years ago Tennessee General Assembly started their session with the verse from Quran. We have members on our US house of representatives that they are muslims. Terrirost wanst us to be divided. They want to divided between muslims, christians and jews. We will not let them succeed. We will stand united and hope that the mayor agrees to meet with the representatives of the Local Muslim Community.

CJS: Islam does not teach forgiveness and peace. It teaches submission. In fact Islam means "submission." Islam appears peaceful and tolerant when Muslims are in the minority. As soon as they have majority numbers they enforce shariah law. They are not very peaceful and tolerant when that occurs. There is a saying in the Middle East, "First comes Saturday then comes Sunday." Do you know what that means? First to kill the Jews who worship on Saturday then the Christians who worship on Sunday. A religion that has that as its goal is not peaceful and tolerant. Not only that, but the religion is a warrior religion written by a pedophile named Mohammad. Sorry if that's not politically correct enough for you, but marrying a child of 6 years old then consummating the marriage when she's 9 years old is pedophilia.

Piper's comments on muslims are comments that are full of hate and promote fear and violence. I'm very disappointed that a public figure like him would stoop this low!! I'm a muslim and have been in public service for about 20 years. Some of that time I spent on active duty serving this country. After getting out of active duty I went to school and studied engineering and came back into the service as a civilian. I spent most of my civil service time supporting our troops all over the world by working in Turkey, Germany, Egypt and Jordan for 12 years building strong for our troops and their families. I'm now in Clarksville working at Ft Campbell supporting our troops with construction of new facilities. I have friends in this area who are Muslims and most are in public service at all levels city, state and federal. Some of my Muslim friends are also on active duty and are either deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan or will be deployed soon. So for Piper to make false accusations and statements that promote nothing but hate and hate crimes is inexcusable. I hope that he will realize his error and make a public statement to set the record straight. Only then that I would have respect for him...

That is so wrong …. You need to educate yourself before you make such erroneous statements about Islam and Muslim. I was borne in the middle east and lived there until I was 18 and never have heard this saying about Sat and Sun and killing Jews or Christians. Where do you get this stuff? Read history and find out for yourself who has been responsible for ethnic cleansing and the mass killing of people. You will be surprised and might consider taking your words back.

Sorry to bust your religious bubble, but this country was NOT founded by Christianity. This country's religion was Paganism / Shaman. Europeans brought the Christian religion here and forced the Native Americans to convert or die, just as they did in Mexico to the Native Americans who lived there and pretty much everywhere else in the world. However, I belive the mayor did the right thing, because any type of religion does not belong on a government stamp.

This will piss a lot of you off and I don't care, so fire back if you must. We as a nation need to take back our country, kick out everyone that is not here legally and start thinking about us again. Just think of how many of us would benefit from this. Do any of you remember Operation Wetback? Look it up, its there for you to read. I was BORN here RAISED here WORK here PAY MY TAXES here and it goes to people who don't deserve it in my opinion. I don't care who thinks I am racist, I am an AMERICAN and I was born to say my peace. Just like the presidents stimulus package, Is your life any better because of it? Mine sure the hell isn't. But WE spent BILLIONS! For what? to save 2 gallons of gas. That itself is a crime. Why should we honor another nations holiday? I will hand deliver my mail before I buy that stamp. Good for the Mayor of Clarksville, sounds like a true American to me.
