I drove home
tonight via I 540 about 11:30 pm from my girlfriends house and I did not see any sobriety checkpoint , Cops deserve a holiday as much as anyone and shame on anyone that drinks and drives , I think that you all need to fire up the bbq and cook some ribs or something

My mom was killed in front of me by a drunk driver so I have no wish to see anyone drink and drive.. but.. those checkpoints are very annoying.

It only takes a few seconds for them to tell if you've been drinking but they also demand your license and proof of insurance. I almost got arrested because it took me a couple minutes to find mine and the cop thought I was lying about having insurance. The DMV already knows if you've got insurance when you renew your license on your car, why would they need to see the card?

Just have one cop behind the car checking license plates for problems and another looking in window for drunks, would save a lot of time and catch a lot more people with legal problems being on the road.

Side note, they don't do checkpoints on interstates because it's illegal. Bet they wish they could though (>.>)

Even if you are obeying the law, you still may get pulled over. There are cars that law enforcement just seem to love to target. I happened to be the receipent of some of that targeting as I returned from Tulsa Sat. afternoon on I-40. Watch your speed around the Muldrow exit as the Muldrow police are patroling the interstate there. Yes, I said the city of Muldrow police are patroling the interstate there. You may have to prove you were driving the speed limit. Thank God someone else was with me, or I would be hooked up with a $250 fine because the officer said I was doing 87 MPH!!!!! I had my cruise control set on 72. The officer was very surprised when he looked in my car and saw someone else with me. It is a high profile car. Since I had no ticket history and was over 60, I got off with a warning ticket. Beware is all I can say. There are cops who serve and protect, and then there are the other cops.
