The Turning Point in my LIfe was when.....

In 2001 I was in a bar in Little Rock where I was a regular. I had just left the apartment of a married woman I had been seeing for several months and thought I'd swing by for a few drinks. About 2 hours later a guy walked in and asked the bouncer where I was. The bouncer pointed over to the bar where me & a few others were standing. The guy came over, pulled out a 45, and pointed it at my face. He said, "I came here to kill you, but I changed my mind. I want you to live knowing that you ruined my marriage and my life and this is because of you." Then he put the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Before I could even react blood was dripping off the ceiling onto me and everything around me. I can't describe the awful scene with mere words. The shooter was the married woman's husband. After the police came and the whole thing was over I went home where I was over-come with guilt. I stayed drunk for two months after that and wasn't able to work for another 6 months. I wished many times that he had shot me instead and even considered suicide. Finally I got a grip on myself. I decided I couldn't change the past, but I could change my future. I quit drinking, went back to school, and eventually got married and had kids. I try each and every day to be a model citizen. Those who know me now don't know I was once on a different path that almost led to my destruction.
If you have a story about a turning point in your life please share it here. If we help one person from Johnson County or anywhere get their lives back on track it is worth the time.

The turning point in my life was when I woke up in the drivers seat of my 93 Corvette out in the middle of a cow pasture. The car was totaled out. I was unhurt. The last thing I remembered was drinking rum taking two Darvons and dropping a hit of acid before a Kiss concert in Oklahoma City and I was 125 miles from there and that was about 30 hours before.
Who knows where I was all that time or what I did.
I was lucky to be alive. I quit partying and joined the Army. That was 12 years ago.

My turning point was when I was ten. I fell down on my knees and gave my life to Jesus Christ. I avoided most of the dumb stuff but Jesus takes all the credit, not me.
