"I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I'm here! Here in your hearts, so I will not die."

May the Honor and Pride of your Son's service to this country bring you comfort during this time. Always remember that there are many military families close to you praying for you day and night. May God wrap a hedge of protection around those soldiers that lost their brother in arms.

To William - Stand down soldier! You served your country well. Rest easy and enjoy those streets of gold in Heaven for you've done your time in hell...

To protect your Right to speak your mind, sometimes our Marines, sailors, soldiers and airmen have to lay down their lives. You should be grateful to this Marine because he stepped up and served his country and gave his life in service of it.
Like you,I wish that his family could have their son back. But,it is not to be.It is a shame and they will have to come to grips about it without someone saying that it wouldn't have happened without a war being fought.

BTW,Channel 3,what is a "Private Second Class"?
Has there been a new rank added to the enlisted ranks of Marines that I've never heard of or has someone made a mistake?Should it be "Private First Class" instead?

Connect the dots for me, please. Explain what this young man's death has to do with OUR freedom (and whether or not his efforts have been in vain, given that our own leaders are systematically stripping us of our freedoms through legislation like the Patriot Acts, the Military Commissions Act, the John Warner Defense Authorization Act... oh, and there are also "assassination lists" maintained by the Executive Branch which admittedly include American citizens and subvert our judicial system... oh, and there is the unwarranted surveillance by the Executive, and the no-fly lists, and the very recent FBI raids on the homes and offices of peace activists and other political dissidents...).

Thanks in advance.

Too bad so sad. He knew what the risks were when HE joined. They did not twist his arm. He was well paid for his service. Now if his parents are even known and their relationship can be legally established, they will collect his benefits. As for his so called service to this country, I obviously do not support the war or the US military efforts over there, so I have no sympathy.

What hateful words. You may have no sympathy, but what about human decency? I am amazed that somewhere in your upbringing someone told you that it was okay to spew such vile hateful words. Hopefully this young mans family will not read your post. I have heard that ignorance is bliss, but what is being just plain ignorant. Move to another country if you don't think you should be grateful to the young men and women who have fought for our country. Do you believe in anything enough to potentially lay down your life? You are disgusting.
