I love these old stories, keep them coming. I grew up in clarksburg & my dad hung out at these places but he passed away in 2006. What about the Tiger Room & Sanitary Hot Dog does anyone remember those places?

Does anyone remember a house that sat on the corner in Broadway where Tucillo's used to be? There were 5 kids that got burned up in this house, I don't remember it,It must have been before my time someone had asked me the other day if I remembered it & they didn't know there names either. Hopefully some one will remember

Dickie Swiger, thief, could have been an olypmic athelete, 1970-80's. Is he still in jail or alive? he was a good old Adamston boy.
Dickie is alive and doing very well for himself! Finally out of prison! He was definitely one of the fastest ppl to come from here! And i dont think hed appreciate being called a thief! He was much more well known for outrunning the cops...even swimming across the west fork to get away...and damn near ALWAYS did!!

Pop Bottle Pete was hit by a car on Old Rt. 50 when I was a kid...the cart he was pushing was placed in my grandma's yard where it sat for months because she was afraid to move it, fearing it was some kind of criminal evidence. Henry, to my knowledge is still roaming the streets, however, his faithful sidekick "Crazy Mary" passed away a couple years ago...

I did know both of them and so what if you did ..that does not make my post wrong, They where bullys and they got their reputation from being just that. So what if you knew them. I grew up in Clarksburg when they were doing their thing, everybody knew who they where. Tell me one positive contribution either of them ever made to the community. They took Stevie to collect a debt then got him killed. What a great theing that was, he did not even get a chance to grow up. Nice Guys hey!!!Im not your Pal...PAL. and they where punks running around terrorizing people.
I sat here and read your comments about a man that was very close to my heart and cant help but think how truly clueless you are. You knew them...Really??? Exactly what did you know because if you REALLY KNEW THEM you wouldnt be asking.. What did he contribute? He was a tough guy true enough,he took no Sh*t from anyone..he drank alot, faught alot and carried a gun. but... he helped countless people, and if he was your friend , he was a friend for life not some blow hard that pretended, he knew what loyality was, like it or not that the way of that life style. What makes one better than another? You never heard about the people he helped, because he never went around bragging that he took groceries to a family who had no money or means to eat,( more than one I saw him help) or that he stopped along a road to help someone broke down, helped do repairs for folks who couldnt or that he lost his life because he was asked to go with CA to collect a debt not for himself, but for a friend. YOu really have no clue, but I guess its nice to embelish about stuff you know nothing about. Towhead was no saint thats certainly true, but to call him a bully is unreal! Like one comment said people would go to glen elk seeking those guys out and start fights, then when they got their a** kicked. They were bullys... only when they needed to be! ;) I love the way people pass judgement, when they only know what they hear/heard. NOT WHAT THE SEE! Over 1000 people went to Towheads funeral... they were lined up down the street..took the entire funeral home every room. Some Bully! Huh.

. Your exactly correct....Toehead was a class character and it was a honor to call him my friend- I know many favors he has done for people and he always kept hi s mouth shut....., The people that knocks him didn't really know him.

Towhead was a class charactor and only those who truly knew him can say that. Others who post comments need to think about something....
When Towhead, JohnBoy, Charlie, Gallo's Buffys etc where Bulling Clarksburg as it was put... There sure wasnt crack house in neighborhoods, there was children being negelected like today, those guys let it be known what the structure was. RESPECT! I dont ever recall a drug house in the middle of a neighborhood, nor do I remember kids disrespecting their parents like today. They were not punks running the streets like today,or want a be gangsters... The men from our error were simpley unconventional business men that liked to party took no shit, didnt rob 70 yr olds, didnt set up drug houses in the middle of neighborhoods. all are entilled to their opinion but just think back 30 yrs ago- Those guys kept more order than the police.

.......I know this for a fact! Toehead hated drugs. He liked his booze but that's it....I have had many conversations with him regarding this issue and he was years ahead of his time in his thinking......he knew that drugs would eventually destroy Clarksburg and he was correct. I don't want to wear this topic out but his word was his bond... He said he would do something for you it was done..... That prick out in Bridgeport that shot him didn't have the balls to go face to face with him.....that' was Joe Trupos idea from the start.
