That man doesn't deserve a classy statement. Take a look at the crime scene and autopsy photos of Dr. Yelenic's murder and just try to disagree. Foley deserves to rot (and worse) in jail!

Has anyone heard that a cop was arrested from that area on New Year's Eve for breaking his wife or girlfriend's hand? Not sure if its a true story or a crazy rumor but I wonder why there was no news story?

IS BLAIRSVILLE STILL IN THE U.S.A. I'M BEGINNING TO WONDER WHEN YOU HAVE SENIOR CITIZENS THAT CAN'T AFFORD THEIR MEDICATIONS BECAUSE THEY WHERE PULLED OVER AND GIVEN A FINE FOR GOODNESS SAKE PEOPLE THESE ARE OUR SENIOR CITIZENS PEOPLE THAT DESERVE OUR RESPECT. HOW CAN AN OFFICER OF THE LAW GIVE A TICKET TO ANYONE WHEN YOU SEE THEM TAKING THEIR CHILD TO WAL-MART IN THE POLICE CRUISER LATE FOR SCHOOL TAKE THE POLICE CAR AND DELIVER THEM NEED PICKED UP AFTER SCHOOL WHY NOT USE THE POLICE CAR YOU DO ANY OTHER TIME ARE WE AS THE CITIZENS OF BLAIRVILLE PAYING FOR THEIR TIME TO DO THIS NOT TO MENTION THE GAS THAT IS BEEN USED. IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN WHEN THEY SEE THE SENIORS DRAGGING A CART OF GROCERIES OR OUT IN BAD WEATHER BECAUSE THEY HAVE LEARNED NOT TO DRIVE INTO TOWN OFFER THEM A RIDE HOME INSTEAD OF TRYING TO RUN THEM OVER IN THE CROSS WALKS. NOW WITH THE THING OF GETTING PEOPLE WITH PUBLIC DRUNKNESS BECAUSE THEY WALK INSTEAD OF DRIVING TO TOWN, TO DO THIS ON YOUR OWN ASSUMPTION BECAUSE THEIR EYES ARE RED THEY ARE LAUGHING AND HAVING A LITTLE GAITY IN A RATHER DISMIL TOWN THEY GET PUNISHED. HAVE YOU POLICE OFFICERS EVER SOLVED 1 CRIME OR MURDER IN THIS TOWN NOT THAT I CAN RECALL IN MY 50 YEARS OF BEING HERE. BUT YOU SURE RIDE SHOOT GUN OVER THE SAME PEOPLE THAT PAY YOUR WAGES HAVE YOU FORGOT YOU WORK FOR THE PEOPLE OF THIS TOWN YOU ARE PAID TO ASSIST AND PROTECT. THIS TOWN IS DYING RIGHT BEFORE YOU EYES PRETTY SOON WE WILL NOT NEED THE KIND OF POLICE FORCE THAT IS HERE NOW BECAUSE AS FAR AS ASSISTING AND PROTECTING YOU ARE IN A DEAD HEAT TO LAST PLACE. IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT THIS AREA IS TOUGH ON DRUNK DRIVERS BUT A BIG HUB FOR DRUGS RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSES WAKE UP AND SMELL THE AIR WALK THE STREETS HELP THE OLD PERSON YOU ALMOST RAN OVER ACROSS THE STREET TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE THAT PAY YOUR WAGES. STOP USE THE POLICE CARS FOR YOUR PERSONAL USES I THINK I SEEN ON THE NEWS A BIG TRAIL THAT WENT ON FOR 2 POLICE OFFICERS THAT WAS ON THE CLOCK DOING THE SAME THING. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND THAT COULD HAPPEN HERE YOU COULD BE THE ONE WITH THE TICKET CITIZENS HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE AN ARREST THEY COULD BAN TOGETHER AND THIS COULD HAPPEN.

HELL YEA SPEAK IT... i lived in blairsville my whole life and now live in derry and let me tell you those pigs get paid way too much money for sitting around. they go into the closest sheetz or red apple and flirt with all the little store clerks and specifically hunt out young drivers who may not even be doing anything wrong just to make their quota at the end of the month so then next month they can sit on their fat asses some more and collect for being "such good policemen" i called in a complaint 3 days ago cuz someone stole the tip off of my tail pipe and they told me there was nuthing they could do.. I LIVE A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE POLICE STATION AND IF THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ON PATROL LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO INSTEAD OF SHACKING IT UP WITH SOME CASHIER MY CAR WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN TOUCHED! i agree with you 150%

Then instead of helping the Techee the 2 Blairsville racers beat the crap out of the Techee and tried to throw him off a bridge. Blairsville was nothing before WyoTech came in, all it was was the halfway point between Altoona and Pittsburgh. Why don't you people realize that there is money to be made by all residents of Blairsville. Quit whining and look at the opportunity in front of you! lets look at this opportunity that everyone keeps talking about... wal-mart was brought to the ville cuz wyotech came. the town makes some money off of that, cool whatever. but then the town which needs roads repaired badly, new stop signs, and a little bit of a better police department, put like a million dollars into a new sidewalk that only covers part of the town. now dont get me wrong, the side walks are a beautiful thing, but it was unnecessary to worry about such a thing as this when our blairsville roads need repairs, and some of our once landmark buildings need restored. you can't help people who can't help themselves. I lived there my whole life. The town could be so much better and not all of it has anything to do with just the wyo's. some of these kids are just genuinely good kids who want to learn something. There are always going to be dumb ass kids that make dumb ass decisions i have done it and i still do i am only 22 yrs old. i catch myself speeding and there is nothing like sitting at the red light on 22 by valley dairy and having someone say across the highway "lets race" and you know u want to. you dont cuz thats a life in jeopardy. but its the kid in all of us. some kids have respect issues and need a swift kick in the butt sometimes, but its not just their fault. look at somre of the parents in these situations. you learn from the people you are surrounded by... if u want the best education for your child, dont send them to a school that doesn't offer student housing and that costs an arm and a leg for an off campus meal plan. and as for wyo's being considered a home town disease; well lets face it, its everywhere and its never going to change. Wyotech is here to stay do you think that the only thing that put blairsville on the map again is going to get taken away just cuz people complain? no... money is strapped and they need to make some, so its here, forever. sorry to disappoint some of you. there are always two sides to a story. I feel for those of you who find it disrespectful but i also feel for those students who just want to learn and people have to mess it up for them. and fyi i would love to know why people use other peoples names on this thing. whoever thinks they are me needs to stop posting things under my name. its annoying

I'm a Wyotech mom. I came across this forum looking for job opportunities in town for my son. He hasn't been successful finding work to help pay for his meals and has told me that the town hates the students and few, if any places would hire them. I really didn't believe him, but I do now. I've been reading the understandably resentful letters from the residents of Blairsville toward the students and have a few comments. I am very upset about the comments by a poster who said that the majority of the students are criminals. My son loves the automotive industry. He is a good kid trying to get a job in a profession he loves. PERIOD. So you are wrong. First, it sounds like the town really does hate the students. Trust me, the Wyotech kids have gotten the message loud and clear. Second, it sounds like there are issues with the police force. I believe there are some trouble-makers at the school. I do not believe the majority are bad. I know the school is working hard to weed these kids out. They have a zero tolerance rule that is making the already rigid school requirements almost impossible. There are security cameras trained everywhere. In the halls, in the parking lots...I pulled into the parking lot at midnight to visit my son and was harassed to tears by a security guard. Trust me, the school wants to co-exist with the town. They expel kids for the slightest infraction of school policy. I also believe, as was mentioned in another post, that the school will probably remain, but that they horribly mismanaged the task of bringing over 1000 kids to a small town. So what happens now? Sounds like the town & school managers need to have open, constructive forums that work toward building a cooperative community in Blairsville. I hate the misinformation and blanket prejudice being thrown out in this forum regarding the students. They aren't all bad.

Not ALL of these students are bad kids they actually want to learn. Its the idiots who party all night long and who force themselves to look "cool" in their little cars running people off the road that the town can't stand and yes these students should be weeded out. i understand that college is a time for fun but some of these kids just dont understand when it has went too far. I commend your son on attending wyo-tech it is a great school and has much potential. I'm sorry that he has not found a job. Shall i suggest Scotty G's Pizzaria, Valley Dairy, Advanced Auto, or McDonald's. They are not the greatest places to work but its a step up from nothingness. I have worked at the pizza shop and i have worked at that valley Dairy location. If he is dedicated to working and going to school valley dairy will respect him for his efforts and try to work around his schedule. Good luck to you and to him and hopefully all this nonsense wont affect your sons curriculum.

I work in a profession where I have been both fortunate and unfortuante enough to deal with "Wyotechers". I have met some of the worsed and some of the nicest kids you would ever want to meet. Unfortunately it only takes a couple bad ones to ruin the bunch. I do not think that Wyotech is as strick as some of you think ... I will check into this but I think if they cracked down a bit more that the problem would not be so bad. Here's the thing, I'm sure they don't want to kick kids out for getting a couple summary citations but the problems occur when you have 50 or 100 out of the 1000 getting a couple summary citations - that is a problem. Not to mention the misdemeanors and felonies that occur. Not just for Blairsville but for Indiana and every place inbetween. In case you do not know they have migrated to Indiana for a lack of housing in Blairsville.

Tmac, I appreciate your job suggestions. As far as the strictness goes, I do know first hand that the SCHOOL-OPERATED dorms (including Indy Hall) are extremely strict. But, even the kids feel that security spends too much time towing unstickered vehicles and not enough time on the vandals and reckless speeders etc. I know kids leave the dorms because they are so strict and move off-campus so maybe that part has backfired and the partiers and troublemakers have been driven off campus. I'm sure that makes the situation much worse for the town. Once my son leaves (sorry, but I don't want to bring any more retribution to him), I hope to offer some constructive ideas to the school about how they can improve and even mend fences. They may not listen, but it can't hurt.

amen i like the way your thinking. only problem is i am afraid all of westmd co. is afraid to deal with the real problems. i agree that HEROIN is the #1 problem out here. something has to be done on a community level to combat this issue and force the police and government to deal with the real problem before god knows what! I live in Blairsville, born and raised and now raising my own children. The crap that is happening here has always been here, if anything since the arrival of Wyo Tech the area is booming. I see more local yocals obstructing justice than Wyo Tech students. You should be more worried about the BSSD school board and what is going to happen to our childrens education and your taxes if the new board is not stopped at making a new super school on the Saltsburg end of the district.
