Just want to add one more thing..........when Bible reading and PRAYER were taken out of our schools, that's when things went down hill. I pray for eyes to be opened and have both replaced while there's still time to set some decent moral standards in the classroom and town.

I think it is GREAT idea to fail the students who are hanging out the street corners rather than going to school. Hey Blairsville - send your kids to school and the other parents in the U.S do. Maybe it will help clean up your town....there will be less trash in the streets.

I agree with the college thing. Go to college and miss that much school and see if you make it. kids just go to school cuz when you have to play grown up and work you are really going hate it. To support your family you have no choice but to work every day that you can and with gas as expensive as it is and as hard it is to live comfortably these days you have to train yourself to get the hell up off your lazy bums and go to class. Your high school education is the only thing to get your foot in the door for college and without college you have nothing. trust me i am 22 years old and i dropped out of college because i got a job offer which sounded great at the time but now is worth pretty much nothing to me. Take my advice, live it easy while you can. Don't choose to do it the hard way just because you do not feel like it. No one feels like picking up your ass

At 22, well put T-MAC!! I hope you stress that point to the younger kids when you run into them. Invest in yourself, your education while you are still young and single as the other path (as you now know)is an uphill never ending struggle.

I wish you luck and at your age, I hope you still pursue finishing your education even if it's baby steps all the way.

yea i just wish that these kids that go to high school now realize that they are our future presidents and i am sorry i dont want some peanut brain running the country and i'm sure that no one else does either. The future is "our" so to speak. We need to do it right.

from the sound of this, you are a dreamer. Do you even really know what its like to not have health insurance? That you may not have a place to live next month cuz you dont know if you are making rent and paying the bills? I do, i knew it my whole life and i still went to class everyday. I was not the perfect student but i'd be damned if my parents didn't send my butt to school everyday. this doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the kids are just lazy this is the parents too. I went to blairsville high school. Its a very good school but if you dont attend you dont get credit. Just as if you dont show up for work, you dont get paid. Like many have said, its a responsibility thing for kids to learn not just curriculum and i'm sorry but kids do as to what they see at ANY age... i still do it and i catch myself doing it. If they see that their parents aren't making an effort they are gonna say "well screw it then, i'm not trying either" I feel no sympathy. If your child is that sick keep them home schooled. If not, then they need to stop being lazy cuz thats all it is. Sorry but the money thing just doesn't cut it. I have been poor my whole life and i still did it, why can't anyone else? LAZINESS

I unfortunately can see this problem from both sides, Terri as you can probably remember i missed alot of school. I still do, I'm about to finish my undergrad college before moving on to grad school. If it's kids just missing class then yes by all means fail them, but going to the drs everytime you're sick, if you know its a chronic condition and there is nothing they can do about it is little more than tedious.

also, why does everyone on this site seem to hate blairsville? i will be the first to admit it is not a little slice of heaven on earth but the animosity found towards it is staggering.

haha sarah i love you to pieces. yes that right that girl sarah was a very sick SICK person when i went to school with her and she is very successful today. She went to the hospital like 4 times a year for months at a time and she did it. She didn't just sit at home on her butt like some of these kids do and waste everyones time. it is a big difference in what you are missing for but if its just cuz you dont feel like it then you are worthless sorry. I LOVE YOU SARAH! I hope you are doing a little better these days.

i agree whoever posted under my name shouldn't have but they probably did it cuz they're bored with their life and have nothing better to do.

havent seen you on many forums or anything, whats your views on this whole school topic?
