Best Apartment Complex in Germantown

I have accepted a job offer in Germantown. What is the best/safest area to live in and the best/safest apartment complex?

I'd go to www.apartmentratings.com and read the reviews. If the complex has a lot of crime, someone will comment on it. You also want to do some research and find out if the apartments offers "below market" rates - this is a euphemism for subsidized housing. All "politically correct" utter nonsense aside, the unfortunate fact is that this means more crime. You can also look at the 5th District Station crime updates ( http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/Apps/Police... ) and match incidents up against a map of the area. If you know someone that's lived in Germantown for more than 7yrs (NOT someone who USED to live in Germantown more than 7yrs AGO) then they might be a good resource. LOT of people from Germantown have gone off to greener pastures in Frederick, Urbana, Mt Airy.
