Senior citizens have Medicare; if poor they get Medicaid or Ten Care The poor get Medicaid or Tenn. Care or both The middle class gets nothing, get sick loose your job, loose your insurance, loose your home file bankruptcy. Have a preexisting condition cant get individual insurance. You are forced to work for a company just for health insurance.(Slave Drivers) If you have an individual policy, in one state, get a medical condition, cant move to another. Insurance in another state won’t cover your preexisting conditions. Food, Health Care, and Shelter The rest we can make on our own Thanks Lincoln PS If the republicans don’t get what they want, they just bring guns, I thought that we didn’t negotiate with terrorist. That’s what Bush always said.

It’s good that Mr. Davis is talking about health care in these town hall meetings. I believe that we need to fix the glitches in our health care system, but I don’t believe that we just throw the whole system in the trash and start all over again. If the windows in your house need to be replaced; you should not demolish the house to fix them. Any health care fix must be bipartisan otherwise, it won’t work. Pelosi folks want the government to take over and fix everything but this is going to lead to a failed policy. I wished Obama the best when he won the election but I thought that he was a moderate person, so far I’ve proven to be wrong. Socialism scares the heck out of me and doomed to fail. If the lifts agendas are to be passed, then I am afraid that social unrest would follow and this is not good for this great country. I hope that Mr. Davis listen carefully to the people who elected him and not to be pushed around by Pelosi, otherwise I think he will pay a price.

I hope the kooks keep coming out to these meetings. People can see them for what they are. People at the meetings. Some are kooks. Some are misinformed and don't have facts and are well meaning. Some have informed concerns and opinions related to the issue. The tv and your tube are the kooks worst nightmare. On a lighter note. Not sure of this category, but my favorite is the guy at a South Carolina town hall meeting that passionately stated, "I want to keep the government out of my medicare!" What do you say to that? I guesse you just stare off into the distance and shake it off. It's funny, but it really staggers the imagination.

There is a need to fix health care in this Nation but not with the current health care proposal. Totally trash the 1,000+ page proposal and put something together with more simple language and don't go the way of socialized health care. Some people may very well be misinformed about the current proposal but unless you have a Phd in law you will not understand this proposal at all. Simplify and shorten the proposal and do not allow socialized medicine.

From everything I've heard, there is no one proposal that has consensus. The 1000 page thing is not it. Doesn't have the votes period. We will not have "socialized" medicine. Book it. Our culture will not be in for that. Not an ideological thing as much as a cultural thing. A "fix" will probably have some government component. Private industry will not give medical care for free or at such a low rate that they can't profit for shareholders.

I agree with the legaleese being a problem, it leaves room for people to create misinformation and disinformation. All bills, unfortunatley, are written that way.

The people of other countries who have a government plan overwhelmingly love it. Yes, the right-wing pundits always manage to pull a dozen or so exceptions out of the entire world community that are unhappy, but again, they are the exception.
We spend more than anyone else, but our level of healthcare quality is lower than Albania. Why do we feel the need to oppose something simply because someone else does it? Would we refuse to produce a 300 hp car that gets 80 miles to the gallon of water simply because the filthy Europeans invented it? I'm starting to think that Republicans would oppose a cure for cancer if Obama invented a successful one.
Of all the people that filed bankruptcy due to overwhelming medical bills, 75% of them HAD insurance. That's a testament to the ineffectiveness of our healthcare coverage system. People shouldn't have to lose everything they've worked their whole lives for just because their youngest daughter gets sick. Countries that provide healthcare to their citizens are killing us in production of consumer goods, because OUR goods are more expensive to cover the companies' costs of workers healthcare coverage (partial coverage, at that).
I just find it fascinating that people would call Obama a Nazi and a traitor for simply trying to provide for "the general welfare" of his country's citizens. How villainous of him to want to ensure that poor and middle class people are able to enjoy the same quality of health that the wealthy do.

Other countries love there health plans; excuse me, ask anyone from Canada, England, etc. Why are there so many forigen doctors in the USA? Healtcare lower than Albania!! Get a life!! The USA has the greatest healthcare in the world today without exception.

RE:Last time i checked medicare, medicaid,va,and s.s. were going bankrupt or were billions in debt. What makes you think the government could run our entire healthcare system?Canada has socialized medicine and the ex head of the Medical Association said yesterday there were a million people waiting on surgery and a million more waiting to be set up for surgery. They only have like 30 million people and we have 300 million.About half the cost of medicine is in the last 6 months of life but who would want their parents to suffer in their last days?My wife was in the hospital about a year ago and it was a shame what it cost as i got an itemized statement from them.It cost 4 dollars for 1 extra strength tylenol plus 9 dollars for each of 3 meds which she had in her pocket book but was not allowed to take.SAdly i have had a lot of experience with drs. and i have yet to see one on time.I waited 8 hours for one at Wartburg one day and then i changed drs.Still a lot of waiting. Then 50 million more people are gonna see drs.How will this work?It wont! These premiums are not gonna be cheap.Somebody has to pay and as usual it will be the working people if there are any jobs left. The freedoms that our forefathers fought and died all over the world for are being taken away daily.tranny wont last long though because there are plenty of people here that will die for freedom and always will.Dont let the government have your guns and make us a police state.Peace to those willing to fight for it.

Exactly which rights has the government taken away from us since January 20th? People aren't arrested for carrying loaded guns to a venue where the current president is scheduled to speak, but people WERE arrested simply for wearing anti-Bush shirts during the last administration. Stifle your feigned outrage. As far as the U.S. NOT leading in healthcare... http://www.who.int/whr/2000/media_centre/pres... What difference does it make HOW good our healthcare is if you can't afford it? Most of the people opposing this are the same people that falsely believe there are going to be "death panels" that kill grandma and grandpa. With THIS kind of misinformation, your argument is laughed at and dismissed.
