This is the whole article Mr. Thomposn did not have the courage to print. I agree with most of you that if I only read the last paragraph of my article, I would consider me insane also. Mr. Thompson, obviously a radical, left wing, Socialist Democrat dedided to do a hatchet job on me.

Article:
Lt. Colonel Allen West is an Army hero. However, he was prosecuted by the Army for scaring a prisoner into talking. Here is a synopsis of Lt. Colonel Allen West’s story.

West was summoned to interrogate an Iraqi prisoner believed to have information about a planned ambush of West’s squad in the town of Taji, Iraqi. The prisoner refused to talk, so West took him out back, bent him over and fired a shot near his head, scaring the prisoner so much that he talked. The ambush was thwarted because of the information the prisoner told West and hence, none of West’s men were hurt in any way. In fact, the prisoner was so scared he ratted on his accomplices and they were apprehended. So much for the Liberals contention that torture or the threat of torture does not work!

Several months later, the Army decided to prosecute Colonel West for scaring the prisoner. The results of the absurd trial was that Colonel West was relieved of his command, fined $5000 and forced into early retirement thus ending a proud and honorable 22 year military service.

When West was asked if it was worth it, West reportedly responded that he would “walk through hell with a gasoline can to protect his troops.”

Is that the kind of officer you would want your son or daughter to serve under, or would you rather have your son or daughter serve under a Liberal officer that would say “torture is not allowed because it would send a bad message to the rest of the world?” I think I know your answer if you value the life of your son or daughter.

I know of only three types of people who would agree it is not acceptable to use torture to gain information to save American lives. The three are: The irrational, the Liberals and the terrorist! Really, the first two are synonymous. Maybe, all three are!
