He decided not to appeal his charge, and was not convicted, but CHARGED...only because if it would have gone to trial, since the lovely Georgia law does say that there is no such thing as entrapment, the case would've been presented to a jury as if there was a real child involved...which there was not. So, it was a lose-lose situation.

I just think that if your convicted of say sexual assult for grabbing a backside at a bar of a grown adult that you should not be banned from living around schools or places with kids. Maybe you should be banned from bars with adult women..or drinking.

Are we really protecting the children from harm with all of these living restrictions? We don't have any children, thank God, but if we did, would my children really be protected either? The children of sex offenders are being moved around just as much as the adults being labeled sex offenders. As a matter of fact, we just got kicked out of our home because our landlord found out that my husband is a sex offender, our neighbors found out, freaked out, and they are now kicking us out. We have not done anything wrong, but yet they feel they have the right to tell us where we can and can't live. Our house was legal as far as where it is located, and my husband has done nothing wrong. Now tell me how fair that is to make us have to move when people are just scared of the label sex offender?
It is amazing at the amount of people that have stopped talking to me or my husband just because of the label. People in the general public need to know that just because you have the label, it doesn't mean that you are the worst case scenario. I don't think that anyone can tell me or my husband that we are wrong for just trying to live our lives in peace. We were living there legally under the law, and now we're the ones forced out? It's wrong.
I'm not saying that what the man that went into the high school did was right, and I'm not condoning his actions in any way, but people need to wake up, because the government is slowly taking over everyone's rights and freedoms, whether you've done someone wrong or not.

I believe you because my husband, a serious alcoholic with issues from Vietnam, AND recovering from a knife assault and on numerous medications from stupid doctors who overmedicate, passed out drunk one night on the floor of our living room. My daughter happened to have two friends spending the night.(ages 8, 9) At some point in the night he woke up and tried to stumble to bed and passed out again across the couch where the girls were sleeping. One of those girls told her parents that my husband crawled into bed with them. For that he was convicted of child molestation and sentenced to 20 years.
