Steel jobs? NO!

The only REAL steelworkers are in Germany, Korea and Japan. Recently other have appeared in India, China and elsewhere.

These bums in the shitholes that US Steel insists on calling mills are simply going through the motions. The company and the union exist entirely on government life support and could not even GIVE their overpriced garbage away in a free market. As for the MonValley, what have they to offer it except bankruptcy, the black lung and a pile of corpses -- while they "live some place nice" and get drunk. That is all these dirty union goons are any good for.

Steelworkers!!! HA! The only REAL Steelmen are in Japan, Germany and Korea. The bums in the shitholes of US Steel just go through the motions. They pretend to make steel and the company pretends to pay them. Nonsense, of course, US Steel and the USW survive entirely on government life support -- in a free market they could not GIVE their overpriced garbage away.

All this so a few union goons can "live some place nice" -- probably fantasy land -- and have money to go get drunk.....the only thing they are actually good for.

Close these useless old shitholes down and consign them to dynamite and the wrecking ball. These bums only go through the motions anyhow -- they don't make real steel. Everyone would be better off just letting the foreigners walk-in and divide up US Steels shrivelling market share.

If nothing else it will eliminate these dirty union goons. Let them disband the USW, if only as a simple act of atonement.

iy's the management and unions fault. the union is afraid of the company and it's just going to get worst. i been there 30 plus years there is a saying there "lie to comply" , that includes safty people.the both talk safty but thats all, if you slow production down for even safty you very well could lose your job , and the union is not ANY help..........

Just one more confirmation. You lost the fight with foreign steel thirty years ago by clinging to obsolete technology and breakdown maintenance. Fifteen years ago, you might have made the switch, but preferred to go on believing in "consipracy theories." Now, it's just a damage limiting operation.

Everybody would be better off if US Steel just closed down and let the foreign competitors walk in. Consign those useless old shitholes to dynamite and the wrecking ball before more lives are uselessly and needlessly squandered in a cause as worthless as it be hopeless. Your comments on the union are quite perceptive. It should be disbanded now.....if only as an act of atonement.

Right on, bro! Ask not what did these dirty union goons ever do for America; ask what America can do for their shitholes.

Reality does have a nasty habit of asserting itself -- witness the triumph of foreign steel. USS/USW simply paid the price for being lazy, backward and preferring to sit around and get drunk.

"Lie to comply"....well what other option do those bums have. Because of their obsolete techology, deprciated assets and worn out equipment, they cannot meet government regualtions, industry standards or even their own specifications. So they operate beyond these limits 24/7, "lie to comply" as you put it, hope they don't get caught TOO often and, when they do, try to cover it up, bribe people off or plead "hardship".

For over thirty years they have offered vague promises of upgrades and improvements at some unspecified future date. However, because the union regards all such proposals as "job killers" and "conspiracies" these can never actually be carried forward. Excuses therefore are always found to shelve to delay these -- usually as an "economy move" -- and then the cycle of con artistry begins again.....All at the expense of the taxpayers and the consumers so that these bums can make believe they have real jobs, "live some place nice" and have money to get drunk.
