He was not only my brother but my best friend there was a 13 year spread in age but we were very close, we would harass each other about who was better in basketball he would always throw up his famous hook shot from behind the 3-point line. I miss him very much and would give anything to be able to hear his voice or see him one more time. Spend as much time with your family as you can you never know when it might be your last. I Love You Bro. Your Bro James

I missing u alot today Dennis there is a space that can't be filled Between losing u, mom, and Joe its alot to take on sometimes I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and I miss u and mom so much. I'm sure u both know how much I love you, but it is very lonely on this earth now that the 2 people I love the most are gone. I will get through this what doesn't kill you makes you stronger I will keep going until Jesus calles me home to be with both of u. Love James

To all those who knew and loved Dennis I share your loss. It has been almost 2 years and I still cant believe he is gone. Saddle Hawk I miss you homie. And to ErinsMAMA keep your ignorant comment to yourself. Chances are you didnt know Dennis very well or at all cause if you did you would never had made that retarded posting. To Dennis' 3 lovely babies and 1 grown son around my age, I am sorry. Your father was my dear friend/mentor and will remain in my memory till my memory it-self has faded. I miss you my good friend. James I am sorry for your families loss, your brother was a true spiritual warrior.

What about the two people he killed in his selfish irresponsibility? Drunk driving is murder by negligence. Don't remember him without remembering them.

Everyone seems to talk about how sad it is that the man who was driving drunk is dead this is very upsetting to me being that he killed two innocent people yes it may be sad to his family and friends but he destroyed a family by taking two lives plus causing terrible impairments to another young child who will probably never be able to walk again this is what is sad Rest in peace Grace and Esther always in my thoughts and prayers

Dennis always told us he was from St. Louis, born in OK. He lived south of Erie for a few years and taught my husband and son martial arts. I'm heartbroken for both families that had lost loved ones. It was bad judgement for Dennis that day and he would have given his life to save another.

Everyone who comes to these memorial pages and posts negative comments about Dennis...... Why not mention that those two people killed were NOT wearing seatbelts? Last I checked, it's against the law to not wear a seatbelt, and they likely would still be alive had they been wearing one.

Why not preach the importantance of wearing a seatbelt as well as not drinking and driving?

Point is, this is a tragedy for all those involved. Don't act like Dennis's family and friends have no right to miss him.

Dennis is remembered each day as I have a photo of him building an Indian moon circle of stone in my wildflower garden. Of course it was a horrific tragedy for both family’s and bad choice that day for both. Anyone that had ever known him would have known that he would have given his life a thousand times for someone else. A very sad end to a good man, a wonderful grandmother and a beautiful young girl.

I only knew Dennis from him coming into my work. He was genuinely the kindest man I ever encountered there. He was always polite, happy and interested in my life and was always handing out helpful advice that came straight from his heart.

I am sad and angry that he made the mistake he did that night, but that doesn't mean his family and friends don't have a right to miss him and remember him.
