Do you know of any Erie "celebrities", people in Erie that you see wherever you go and are a little different?

I'll start: Erie's Black Cowboy, with cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and spurs: an Erie legend

And don't forget about all the overweight, homely ladies with big pictures of cat's faces on their T-Shirts and wearing spandex pants at the West Ridge Rd. Wal-Mart!!

Does anybody remember the "White Knight"? He was an albino dude who wore all white; shirt pants coat and boots. Used to walk around town in the late 60s or early 70s. Some of the older kids in the neighborhood used to "egg" him when he came by.
Or, how about "Crazy Rick", he was well known in the mid to late 70's.

Crazy Rick?!?! We used to see him every so often around the East Side back then.

What do ya think, dead or incarcerated?

I'm not sure. I think he did some time, but I seem to remember seeing him a few years back so probably still alive.
He wasn't a bad guy. He hung out at the Glenwood ice rink when I used to skate in the mid 70's. He seemed to prefer the company of white people and he loved his "Crazy" reputation.

A black gentleman in his 50s or 60s who is seen at many public places in Erie, usually on Peach Street or at the Mall. Looks like he just got off the set of Young Guns. I used to see him a lot in the 90s, but I just saw him twice in the span of a month at the Arby's on 12th and Peach another time on State Street.

Ok, here's one for you. DOGMAN !!!! Legend had it that this guy, half man - half dog, lived in a room in a small house on the east side of Peach Street between 26th and 29th streets. Kids would drive by real slow to gaze up at a window there at night where you could see a scary silhouette of...... something. Anybody out there remember this from the 70's and 80's ?

Oh yeah, but I recall it being a DOGBOY, not a man. Yeah, back in the early/mid 70's.

Big Rick was cool when he wasn't being a freak. You never knew what he was going to do. I'd run into him playing baseball/speedball in McKinley Park.
