result, now let's go "regional" crap, can't figure out what we can do locally and besides we can get a grant (not a sustaining job base) to employ a consultant or a political buddy to help steer these poor people into something that get's printed and put on a shelf or blown out a cannon!
In order to sustain an economy, you need to "make something or have a draw" at a good price.

Has another "new " group emerged in Erie with the purpose of improvement and hope for the Erie area ?
What a laugh.....another endeavor from the usual suspects getting their names in the paper once again couched under the guise of moving Erie forward.
I say move it forward enough to dump it into the lake. The train for a better future left the station a long time ago. Of course the citizens want a better Erie and a better life. The trouble is nobody wants to do what it will take for that to happen. The masses want to benefit from positive changes but don't want to be part of the solution.
Remember the children's story from way back.....The Little Red Hen ? None of the others would help with growing, cutting, and grinding the wheat. But when the bread was baked they all wanted a slice of the goods.
There are not people enough willing to make the changes needed to turn things around. Too many expecting the efforts to come from a scant few. That's a sure fire recipe for failure. That's what happened in Erie years ago giving birth to another generation of low expectations and a decending lifestlye. The formation of the latest development group or any future attempts at reform will have the usual short life span as members slough off one by one realizing the futility of their efforts and the apathy that inevitably overcomes them all.

So...Why does Erie need five different economic groups? For a City its size it only needs one economic group. They all need to be consolidated into one.

They say you cannot fool all the people all of the time but you can fool some of the people part of the time.
In Erie the Democratic Party can fool most of the people every election with the same group of misfit`s & the same BS agenda!

John Elliott is a pied piperthat has the Times whistling his tune. He bankrupted the Erie redevelopment authority and run off Scott free the the EDCEC. Not a disparaging word about John form the Times. Now John has wasted our time and public money with 3 years of fairy tales about an inland port. Just in his ERA days, lots of talk for years and absolutely nothing to show for it. And while I am at it, Dave Brennan of Erie city council, "works" for John Elliott. Can anyone tell me what he does for a do nothing economic development group. Is there any transparency with these pseudo public organizations that spend public money and no one actually has to do anything other than stall, blow smoke and collect a paycheck?

Old cyclops Dave Brennan works for the EDCEC. What a windbag. He has a do nothing job, and then blows all his time he should be working facebooking about himself and his city council bs. What a load.

That would be awesome, Brennan could built his crappy canals filled with litter and toxic tar and elliott could bankrupt the county too. Just what we need is bald john and his fat cycolps lap dog to bury this corner of the state. What a pair of bow tie wearing turds.

Answer to this Post's question is an absolute NO. Also, Elliott should GO to Disneyworld, and stay there.

You are correct. There is no transparency. How can they be using public dollars without a budget that is posted on their website. why isn't the city or state auditing them? what are their salaries? why isn't the newspaper more inquisitive?

And so how does dynamic Dave Brennan get around the Hatch Act running for Council? Does the Economic Development or any of their other groups receive federal dollars from the City or County?

Brennan may be in violation of the Hatch Act. Please take a look at the following link that details the Hatch Act and draw your own conclusions. If you do think that Brennan is in violation call the phone number or email a complaint at the bottom of the attanced link. http://www.osc.gov/documents/hatchact/haflyer... .

A one person smear campaign complete with sock puppets and lies. Brennan is the only person on council with a clue.

This city council for most part has people who never worked in the real world. AT least Brennan has held responsible private industry jobs. You have Evans, but for most part, others have a lot or barely worked where profit was motivation to operate a business.
