All to often money is the culprit which denies special needs students services. However, in CISD's case it appears that ignorance is more of a motivating factor than money. Lack of knowledge in the field of Autism denied my child services. Can you believe I was actually told by school personnel that this school had never had a child with autism and we just don't know how to deal with autism ? With autism found in 1 out of every 150 children I find it unrealistic that this school has never had a single child with autism. Instead of getting the necessary training to deal with kids with autism, this district simply denied the eligibility. Pathetic !

I so disagree ,clarendon ,tx don't care they are cruel and don't care..A SCHOOL system should know how to deal with all kids with disabilities. My kid was the was first they ever seen with autism in clarendon, texas! Or maybe they just don't care for special needs kids and denying of FAPE !!!
