About the only thing that makes me mad is the cost to tear that POS down. They're going to have to do the asbestos remediation, and then take it down. All that and they had to buy the place too. They say that it's part of the 'downtown renovation', but really the location is a ways away from where the proposed 'downtown' will be. May have been smarter to just knock the sign down and shutter the place for a while.

Wow... some people can find negative in anything. This is GREAT NEWS! The worst eyesore in town is GONE forever. It would be nearly impossible to bring this type of facility back into our community now. This is fantastic. Our village will no longer be looked at as that place where the strip club is or that community were the mud flap lady billboards are. Heck this was a great investment in our future.

Sorry you won't be able to get your nasty lap dances anymore.

Lol. I have no problem seeing the place gone, was simply disappointed in the cost to the city to get rid of it. Would have preferred if some other private business could have taken it over and incurred that cost. As far as nasty lap dances go, I only went there once (years ago), and wasn't impressed.:)

Just so you know the funding came from the TIF District, not the village's opperating budget. The TIF funding can only be used for projects like this. So it didn't effect your taxes one bit. Hope that clears that part of it up a little.

If they village didn't buy it there were several less than desirable strip club opperators that had offers on the place. The village would then still be known for having a nasty strip club. I'm glad to see it go.

Daily Horoscope for June 17

Scorpio

This is a brilliant day to put your brain to good use. You'll come up with some really great ideas if you think outside the square. Don't feel you have to follow in other people's footsteps if you'd rather break out in a completely different direction. It's a day for doing your own thing and thinking your own thoughts, and for trusting that you're on the right track.
