You didn't have to read this and you don't have to vote for him, but there are some that will. I'm just posting the information that several people have asked for and you had the option of NOT reading it. I'm so glad you know who I am. I have a right to support Hollis and help him any way I can. I wish people would stop being so negative. I bet you don't know anything about him, but what you've been told. Way to form your own opinions.........

Exactly Nikki. They're probably a non-supporter of his because...are you ready for this...*gasp*...because he's black. BUT, they're the same people who are always present in Sunday School and Church.

And the sad part is they think they're justified in thinking the way they do. Sad, sad, sad...

Ben, don't try to fool us into believing that you'd vote for a black guy, either. Honestly. Nikki, you are entitled to your opinion, but when that is ALL people have heard about the womanizer, how can they not believe some of it?

You're damn right I WOULD vote for a black man or woman. I look at who is the most capable candidate REGARDLESS of color. I know this is rare around here, but it's the TRUTH.

And while I'm on the subject...it pisses me off to no end that so many white people, and other races, see Obama as a black man. The man has 50% white in him and 50% black. HE IS NOT BLACK. When these same people see a Zebra, they don't call them black. When these same people look at a standard Oreo cookie, they don't call them black. But Obama...yeah, he's black. Whatever. And YES it does piss me off just the same that so many black people voted for him and support him because he's "black." Whatever...

Simply because regardless of how many times you hear something, without substantiated proof to prove it, it simply isn't true.

End of story.

The Hollis bandwagon arrives again, I see. You're wasting your time. The women won't vote for him, especially the ones I will talk to. They will hear what I know. And Ben. I'm interested to know who is getting your vote. I agree with the above statement: you would not be caught dead voting for a black guy.

You're saying that I would not be caught dead voting for a black guy? Are you kidding me? Why, because I'm white? I'm not going to lie and say I don't see race because I do. We all do. But I always vote for the most capable candidate regardless of their color, religion or sex. I don't care if they're family. If they aren't the most capable candidate in my eyes, they won't be getting my vote.

As for who IS getting my vote in the Sheriff election, I'm not sure. It won't be Gary Henard, I can assure you of that.

HOWEVER, many people like to keep their vote private. After all, you don't have to share your vote if you don't want to. Voting is done anonymously so someone doesn't have to share it if they don't want to.

BUT I am curious as to why you don't think I'd be caught dead voting for a black person. I really, really am curious. You obviously don't know me. I have black friends, white friends, German friends, Finnish friends, Irish friends, Jamaican friends, etc. I treat everyone the same and they're ALL, every single one of them, welcome in my home at any time.

So please enlighten us all in how you've created your opinion of me. No matter how you've created it, it's wrong. I can tell you that. if you really want to get to know someone, do it to their face and don't let what you hear on the street influence your judgment of them.

Either you're trolling OR you're trying to imply that I feel the white race is superior to other races. Either way, you're wrong. I've stated above that races makes no difference to me. Move on...

Obama sees himself as a black man. Go check how he filled out his census form.

Correct. But thats the FIRST time he has done so.

Regardless, how can you call something one thing when they are just as equally something else? Answer: You can not. It's that simple.

I checked both boxes that applied for my children on the Census.

As for the Hollis bandwagon, I've also known him all my life and since he is my god-father, I consider he and his whole family my family. As I stated before, you are entitled to your opinion, but it isn't right to make accusations based on what others CLAIM to be true. So unless you are the one he did wrong then how would you know? Even still, this has nothing to do with how well he can perform his duties as sheriff.

I find it funny that all of a sudden people want to talk about morals when we all know there have been previous incidents involving others in office in Monroe County that did some morally questionable things and stayed in office after the fact. If, and I did say if, Hollis is/was what you stated then obviously the female(s) knew about it before hand and she still chose to pursue him, so is it not equally her fault? I'm not exactly sure which friend of hers you are, but I know why you are making all these remarks of hearsay. I'm just trying to exercise my rights to support my family on his endeavor and ask you to be respectful of that right and keep the negativity to yourself.

No Ben, it's because he was involved with a friend of theirs and he broke up with her for several reasons and then moved on and married his wife. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but when you play with fire.....you will get burned.

Most bi-racial people are used to choosing black because of the "one-drop" rule created by whites to keep white blood pure. Only recently, have bi-racial and multi-racial people been able to choose more than one on any type of application. I've noticed on most government forms lately that it says "check all that apply", but before you could only check one.

If anyone, white, black or otherwise, votes for a person solely based on their skin color then they have failed to perform their civic duty in order to try to put the best candidate in office. MLK Jr. said "Judge not by the color of ones skin, but by the content of their character" and I've long known that this will never happen in Monroe County because most people do vote based on personal beliefs and/or hearsay and rumors. You can read the few statements all ready made above and that alone is proof that this is very true.

I don't know who you think I am or who "friend of theirs" is, but it's funny that you're talking to me/about me like you know me. "He broke up with her"?? Pam? Is that who you mean? No. "it's because" I was a citizen of Holly Grove for 3 years. That was more than enough time to know who and what Hollis Foster, Jr is/does. Firsthand.
