Now we have guns and they are locked up safely. But I have picked up one of my children from a house and his rifle was laying right on the kitchen table. I could believe how irresponsable they were. My child will never go back because he DIDNT have them locked up. But to say "never allow them in the house" ? Just because they have a gun? I dont think people have a very clear picture of just how many others have guns in their houses.

I think your right people are not aware. Our laws about gun safety are poor. Why when they know there are children in the house not lock them up? I think because people feel accidents could never happen to them. Did you know if your child picked up that gun and it went off, most likely the owner would not be accountable! Now thats the crime.

All owner's should be accountable and responsible for anyone hurt by pure negligence. That is alarming to know, my answer was flat out NO.
