The way a child is sometimes choosen to get on a team is so out dated. The politics of who you know and being perfect is the key. It has been for at least 10 years that I know of. Some kids take longer to mature and find there nich. When they finally do, the door is shut. One chance is given and the child looses the desire to try out again. They are afraid of the disapointment that goes along with it. When will everyone learn to reach out and give all kids the chance to make mistakes learn from them. Oh yes, I forgot our leaders or coaches never made error in judgement or mistakes. Every child deserves a second chance to prove they can change. Playing a sport today means alot to kids, socially, academically and with self esteem. Lets all grow up, and give these kids a chance!
