I do some hunting on Black Lake and some on Red River. The rain will definitely hurt the beginning of the season for this area. A lot of hunters have not been able to 'prep' their blinds on the river due to the high water and I'm not even sure if you will be able to launch opening day because it's still too high. I know some people that have launched from non-public launches that said that most of their spots are too high to hunt making it tough this year. It really comes down to this: More water = More places for ducks to go. Keep remembering that this year the duck numbers are the best the experts have seen in years.

As this area's foremost authority on duck hunting, fishing and farming I can tell you that all this rain is not good at all. Therefore, I encourage you to come with me to Arkansas and we can bunk together in my shanty under the stars and get to know one another on a more personal basis.
