So they arrested two documented gang members who live in Redlands for shooting a hard working, upstanding citizen but Redlands doesn't have a gang problem right? I am so sick of Redlands PD and the wanna be traffic cops in this city. We have about a 10 block area that the gang bangers and low lifes gang out in. Redlands puts out like 10 cops per shift. How about putting 5 of those cops in the bad areas and clean up this town? But no, they have to sit in downtown all night looking for DUI's. I have a clue for you, the cops wearing the green shirts are supposed to be the gang team. They do not belong hanging out in Charlie Jewels looking at all the cute college girls. We don't want a Rialto scandal over here. Go over to the gang area and do your job. If you can't clean up this town then I say it is time we coontract with the sheriffs.

RPD has the very high dollar "Emergency" Motorhome rigged with radios, phones, and all necessary equipment to act as a station.
Okay CHief, since you're into Police-Community Policing, How about using your Emergency rig and set it up in the middle of the gang problem areas. Have the patrol officers work out of it. BE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD until you have cleaned it up. Give up your futuristics for awhile and clean up the area. The neighbors would really welcome it!

Have you heard of the City of Bell? Perhaps it's time to evaluate the salaries of Redlands City Government!

I agree...let's move to pay for performance. You don't perform, you don't get paid, and maybe we just contract out your job altogether..go 3rd party with the county or state.

I hate to be the grammar police, but please try a few commas and periods. It will be much easier to figure out what you are trying to say.

It's so sad what's happened to this town. Just so sad. The mayor's office, the council, the manager's office should all be hanging their heads in shame.

Redlands PD needs to get off their high horse and admit it needs help. This police agency is so busy looking for chicks while on duty and cruising the local bars, that the arent able to catch real criminals. If you call them they are rude and unresponsive to reports about crimes being committed in the city. Its hard to do your job sitting in your patrol cars outside of 4 or 5 bars.

THE SHERIFF's DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO BE CALLED IN TO GET RID OF THE REAL PROBLEMS THE GANGS AND THE LAZY COPS WHO ARE WORSE THAN THE GANGSTERS.

REDLANDS NEEDS A REAL POLICE FORCE NOT A BUNCH OF GIRL WATCHERS.

Yes Redlands Police are downright crooked, Uniformed Officers as well as undercover officers are seen in strip joint's receiving lap dances, as well as just cruising the bars all night.

The problems of gangs, has been present in Redlands well since the 1940s. The police, going that far back, some were from Arkansas, and weren't the friendliest police toward the public, in general. That changed over time, but there is always going to be the good boy network of cops. What you need to know, and this is everywhere, not just Bell or Redlands, is that looking the other way is all a part of business. Consider this for cops, by not cracking down hard on the crime that exists in a pre-emptive way, is to perpetuate it, as a means of job security. To finish off this commentary, the far right goes so all the way around to the far left. Our pillars of the community make enormous money, "with a little gang banger in all of them." And all crime has been a cottage industry around here for years. The community would welcome your approach, but they too rent rooms to people they know the police would be looking for.
