I love you Chalen You are very much missed. Chalen is the most kind hearted guys you could ever meet. people should not judge him unless they know him. Chalen has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. his sister also. they are a wonderful family. I am sure they are in great pain also from this. both families have lost thier boys.and no one should look at chalen as a murder he is not at all. if you knew chalen you too would love him.

it all was an accident,
he would NEVER do that intentionally... EVER
hes always been the one to protect our group of friends.. our FAMILY.. no matter what the situation, or who it is, he stood his ground and fought for what he believed in, for his friends, his family.. and because its what he thought was the right thing to do.
the media plays us as the 'BAD GUYS'
when nobody cares to see our side of the story!

Everything that happened that night was an accident, I wasnít there so I have no right on voicing this, but few of any of you were actually there, the punks were tormented, ridiculed, and just flat out being bullied. The punks had the jocks calling them fags throwing trash and cigarette butts at them. The jocks bringing three full cars of people at the park saying they were going to jump the punks when there were only three girls and two boys. If mike hadnít of dragged this fight on and gone to chalens house, this would of never happened, chalen wouldnít hurt anyone for the fun of it, and his sister was there, of course he was going to stand up to mike, if he hadnít things would of flipped and one of the punks would of most likely be dead. Mike would of most likely just gotten a slap on the wrist, because he was a star football player, and most or some of the punks have police records. The government is unfair, they say they do things in fairness without judging and what not but thatís bullshit. Chalen is most likely going to get punished way more than mike would have, and thatís injustice. People are getting threatened just for being friends with people. Kids parents are even getting threatened, thatís stupid. People should NOT be critized for the way they dress, or the music they listen to, or what they do for fun. Some of us play football for fun; some play guitar or drums, and go to concerts for fun. Every ones interests are different and the punks are being harassed for being who they are, and itís not right. I have heard both sides of the story, so I'm not making my opinion base off of one story, but I want to get my opinion out in the open. Mike Lundin was not innocent, if he left the punks alone, none of this would of happened, just because he was the one murdered doesnít mean heís innocent, and you all need to get your incredibly thick skulls around that idea. If youíre going to make a statement about the murder and you were not there at least hear both sides of the story before you judge.

i know...
killing is NOT right, and is NOT okay, but what happened was also NOT intentional at all.. we were ALL sick of being constantly getting put down, harassed, and alot of other things that were being done to us.. and when it came down to it, chalen stood his ground and said this is enough.. im not going to run, we DO have a right to stand up for ourselves.. THEY wanted a re match, THEY came to his house, and all chalen did was stand his ground, stand up for his beliefs, and protected his family of friends. Doing what he thought was right, when he left he did NOT know the man was dead, ALL of mikes friends ran off and left his friend to die... and you want to know who stayed to try and aid him? CHALENS FRIENDS. the ones who he was supposed to be FIGHTING..

This Chalen guy should rot. I can tell none of you are probably over the age of 21 if that and your immature way of thinking shows that. The end result is that he MURDERED someone. If there is a fight, neither party is innocent but murder is murder "accidental" or not. Being picked on is not an excuse to commit violence. He has a criminal record and obviously did not want a better life for himself otherwise he wouldnt have gotten himself into this situation. He will get what's coming to him and so will all of you if you choose to live the same kind of life.

I agree with you - and that is not to say that all the past history that let up to this is not acknowledged...I am sure that' he did','then he did' etc ofcourse did happen, and from what I understand it has been going on since high school.
But most of you are out of high school...you're 'supposed' to be 'adults' now, people who make better decisions and better choices (at least make an effort, and try most of the time..)- as this was going on for a while it seems to me that you may have had time to think some things over, to make other choices then to resort to violence. And yes, ofcourse I was not there, and I do get the intensity of the feelings involved, so I am sure there's a lot of sides to this immensely sad situation, let's hope that this does not set a tone. and that all the argueing groups after you learn from this and make better choices in the future and understand that it is possible to get what you want without (extreme) violence!

Chalen is a wonderful friend and person, I know that there is alot of talk (gossip) about how mike lundon is a wonderful boy but for all of you that delt with him in the halls of high school he is a jerk who harrassed girls and picked on the smaller boys. Now why they would pick on a bunch of punks that were physically smaller. im not saying that mike had to die im just saying that his own dumb ego got in the way of his life. and all his friends that were there to fight knew when they picked up big rocks and being larger in numbers and physically who woulden't pick up what they could find too. No pre meditation so all of you who think that chalen should rot in jail should go to hell. this is only my opinion from factual things that i experienced. watch the movie the outsiders i thinks thats what its called. movie that describes the situation pretty good

What happened in Big Bear Lake is terrible for both sides and my prayers go out to all involved. That said I want to now tell you about Mike Lundin. For those of you who believe Mike went to this ďfightĒ to repress the ďPunksĒ with force did not know Mike. Let me tell you a bit about Mike the ďall American boyĒ, did you know Mike could not play sports his senior year in school? His ability to play was taken from him first by a sports injury then in a car accident, and he lived in constant pain. It hurt Mike to even walk or ride in a car; he had to sleep on the floor to help relieve the pain. Some say Mike went to Mr. Winters house to attack him, it hurt Mike even to get up in the morning, and kept him from enjoying the activities he loved (sports). Mikes did not let people know he could hardly move due to his multiple back injuries, only his close friends and family knew this. Mikes boss told me he had to help Mike at times not because Mike asked but because someone else saw Mike and told him Mike was in pain. Mike certainly knew he could barely move much less put up a fight, I do believe he went over to confront the problem as that was Mike, but not to fight. All Mike had was his cell phone for protection, no club, or weapon of any kind. I ask this, would go to a fight without a weapon if you knew you could barely move? Mr. Winters killed a man who could not run away, and could not turn around quickly enough to protect himself from the blow from behind that killed him.

I believe that God has a plan for everyone and that God does not make mistakes and I see this now for Mike. Mike was injured and could not play football but he went to every practice and game to help his team. This injury helped Mike teach the other players more about life than football. I believe Mike was placed at the scene in an injured state so that he could not run away, and so his death would cause others to ask why and to seek answers. I want to encourage everyone to look for the answers as Mike did. Mike attended bible study and went to services every week, as it is not enough just believe and to read your bible. The bible is very difficult to read and understand so I ask of you to find someone to help you. Most of you donít know Mike was disabled not only physically but also was learning disabled; It was difficult for him even to read or write, but he worked hard to learn about the word of God. If you donít know were to go or who to ask, talk to Mikes parents they will be glad to help you, even if you were involved. If you donít feel comfortable there find someone, I donít care if you go to the candy shop and ask, donít stop until you find someone who knows. I do believe everyone involve should be punished for their part in Mikes death, but am 100% against any retaliation and any that may occur only serves to hurt Mikes parents and everyone involved more. I ask that we all give God thanks for Mikes live and his death and we use them both and learn from them. Mike brought many others closer to God in his life and I pray that he bring many, many more to know God in his death. I would never say that Mike lead a perfect life, no person can. I am as sure Mike and his friends did some things others did not like but that in no way should have lead anyones death. Even the Pastor, Priest, Rabbi, Shaman, or what ever person you put in a place of leadership in your worship all are HUMAN and ALL humans make mistakes and all have known sin in their lives, but we should not kill them. What is important now is how you deal with it. It may be too late to save Mikes life, but there are many others out there in need. Donít let Mikes death be wasted in you, itís ok to be different but donít hate those you donít know or donít understand.

SAY WHAT YOU WANT. YOU WERE NOT THERE, YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO YOUR OPINION. BUT ALL I READ IS PURE IGNORANCE ON MY COMPUTER SCREEN. YOU APPARENTLY DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, POSSIBLY THE STATEMENTS MADE IN NEWSPAPERS.. BUT IN THE END, ARE THEY RELIABLE? ARE YOU THAT GULLABLE TO THE POINT OF BELIEVING EVERY WORD YOU READ?.... i suggest you think before you speak, it could do alot of good.

When I heard of the news I was quite shocked. Of course when things happen up there you hear all the different rumors as to what happend and I have heard it all but just can't believe what happend. Young adults/kids as you can call them at this point should have known better to start a rematch and just not move on with their lives, if 2 groups of people are fighting they need to just walk away from the situation till things cool down, they could actually go home and take a breether. I have known the Lundin family and watching Mike grow up I saw that there was something special about him. It doesn't matter who did what to who, Chalen or Lundin would have been given the same punishment now matter what the crime has been. A crime is a crime and when a crime has been made there is punishment. It is just sad and nonsense that this had to happen. Lets get smart here and learn that we need to all just get along with each other and when someone or a group gets in to a similar situation that they just let it go and go home to chill till the situation goes away and life can resume and not have to keep loosing lives over stupid things that we can get over.
