But the reporter was telling you about that, Councilman Bertone, so now you have heard it.

Obviously Jackie is not a danger to the community being unlikely to roam or give anyone rabies. The Inland Valley Humane Society is dedicated to the anti-pet philosophies of PETA and HSUS.

They are the ones bringing up mandatory spay and neuter for their jurisdiction which sneaks it into San Bernardino County even though they are located in Los Angeles County.

They want your dog licensed for the revenue to pursue their anti-pet goals.

Just like the DMV, the Highway Patrol, Taxes etc. Simply another revenue generating tentacle of the state under the guise of benevolence.

One of these guys isn't exactly a good reporter. One of them had a dog pooping on the neighbor's lawn....which it does REGULARLY.....and was caught and fined. YEAH! I am tired of lazy owners who let the poop go and someone else accidentally steps in it. Your dog, your poop! Clean it up or get fined.

The Inland Valley Humane Society is deplorable for harassing these people. They are monsters for threatening to take away people's pets. And, to add to more to this injustice, they're trying to milk whatever money they can out of these unemployed people to fill up their coffers. It's amazing that an institution like this has such unfettered power to harass citizens throughout various cities. I used to think the Humane Society did good things, and there was once a time they did, but I can see this institution has turned into a money-grabbing entity. I will no longer support this organization, and will let others know of their actions against people who have done nothing wrong accept take in and love animals in their homes. Government subsidies need to be cut off to the Inland Valley Humane Society, and local politicians who support the unethical tactics of this institution need to be held accountable OR voted out.

I have witnessed how rude “some” of these people are at the Inland Valley Humane Society. I have gone there to rescue a neighbor’s dog; they also told me that I owed a license fee for my dead dog which passed away two years ago. I have seen how the kennel handlers abuse the dogs when a potential adoptive family wants to see a dog. I use to be a big supporter of the IVHS; I stopped donating after a run in with their so called Animal Behaviorist! By the way I’m a “Certified Pet Dog Trainer”.

They came by my house as well. Apparently the license for my one dog had expired. And I hadn't renewed. How could I have known when I never got a tag and never got a notice? They demanded I pay up right there and then collected my $45 check on the spot. In my area the charge is $15 a year plus $15 penalty. It's crazy. I don't know what entity gives them this kind of authority. The bullying has to stop. To think I used to donate to the Humane Society as well. Never again.

Go for it, but humanely, Inland Valley Humane Society. You could probably bend a little, as far as post-licensing of dead dogs. But there will always be people who don't want to license/collar/control their pet animals, and they will concoct and use any excuse conceivable. Witness the "it's not in their nature" rationale that's been so successful with the cat-fancier contingent, and the resulting flat feline fur-lined roads we drive on. Ka-thump!

Oh... coyotes really like stray pets too; that's part of the reason they visit the foothill communities so frequently.

Someone came to my house as well. Was very abrupt, wanted money on the spot for a puppy we just had rescued. I kept seeing this same person for about a week going door to door. I mailed in my fee and now have to pay a late fee. They don't want the dogs licensed so they can keep track of them, they want the dogs licensed for the revenue it generates. Right now, all agencies are hurting for money.

This article is completely accurate. The Humane Society in truth is coming after the public because, I can only assume, they are receiving less donations due to the economic times, however they are placing their financial burden on the backs of the public who are currently struggling to survive, and quiet honestly, they don't seem to care. I live in Chino, the same thing happened in our neighborhood, the difference is, my fine is almost $400, I have 3 dogs, and my husband told them it was a ridiculous amount that we couldn't afford, and if they had to take the dogs, they could take them. It sounds horrible, but I'm on 3 furlough days a month, thats 15% of my paycheck, he used to make overtime, not anymore. We have 3 kids, we're barely surviving, and the Humane Society feels like the Sheriff of Knottingham. What I want to know is, where is Robin Hood?

I Live in LaVerne. I have been through the same crap. They harrasessed me over and over. I called them, said the dog ran away a few years ago. I went to the humane society every 4 days fro two months looking for her. posted signs, sent letters to vets, but they still insisted I pay for her, and for a cat that we hadn't had in 4 years. I sent certified letters, everything. It has been anout 8 months and I haven't heard a thing. I told them to quit harrassing me and take me to court. We will let the judge decide. After that, I haven't heard from them

Well Councilman Bertone, if these comments are not enough to investigate the IVHS and start doing something about the tactics of these people, I'll be one of the first people to start a campaign to vote you out of office next term. San Dimas is a city of animal lovers, I’m sure I’ll be successful!

$75.00 per dog in Pomona. Fees for cats in Pomona. Went to look for my cat that disappeared and they had dead dogs in a wheelbarrow out for everyone to see. IVHS had a parvo outbreak and then proceeded to have a shot clinic two days later. hundreds of animals exposed. the place is a joke.

They need to rethink their policies. Send a bill in the mail like everyone else.I was told they would put a lien on my house if a didn't get another rabies shot for my 14 year old golden that was dying. She was unable to walk after the shot and died 2 weeks later .
