Assemblyman Adams continues his push for redevelopment funds for Gl...

State Assemblyman Anthony Adams, 59th District. While a state appeals court recently ruled against a Glendora redevelopment effort, Assemblyman Anthony Adams is maintaining his so-far steadfast support of the city. Full Story

Since Anthony Adams is on a rail out of town, he has tried once again to show the rest of the 59th district members and all of California's voters and residents why he is not allowed to be an elected member again!

Shame on him and Glendora California for their childish clown like actions in regards to the Los Angeles County vs. Glendora Redevelopment lawsuit.

CONCLUSION:

Having reviewed the administrative record de novo, we find no substantial
evidence of physical blighting conditions under section 33031, subdivision (a). For that
reason, we do not consider the existence of economic blight under section 33031,
subdivision (b). For the same reason, section 33030, subdivision (c), does not come into
play, and we do not consider whether Glendora’s inadequate infrastructure claims
constitute blight. Even if we were to consider those infrastructure claims, we would
reject them on the merits.
In the absence of blight, the redevelopment plan is invalid. The trial court
therefore acted properly invalidating Ordinance No. 1845.

Hey gilman, isn't it possible you have a personal problem with Glendora? You sued them, and rightfully so but could that make you just a little bit biased?

I read the courts ruling and Glendora provided plenty of documentation of blight, at least in my opinion. Your line "With all due respect, the legal requirements for formation of a redevelopment zone require more than Glendora feeling the area was blighted" is arrogant but I guess since you won your case a swelled head isn't to be unexpected. Talk down to someone like our boy Mark that posts here 1000 times a day, I actually can read and figure out things.

That being said I might well be wrong in the long run, but I live in the area, am down there every day and think it needs to be redeveloped. I'm not a council member or developer...nor do I own a bunch of properties. Just a homeowner in the 91740 with a different opinion.

I think that the judge was wrong but it is what it is. For you to say you hope the Supreme Court chooses not to hear the case is to me telling.

Anthony Adams wrote in the 2009 California State budget a special LOVE NOTE FOR GLENDORA CALIFORIA:

33333.13

(1) The sum of two million six hundred dollars ($2,600,000) in each fiscal year.

(2) In each fiscal year, an amount equal to that amount received by the agency as gross tax inctrement for the 2007-08 fiscal year.

Anthony doesn't bring forth the much needed information that he LOST his seat in the 59th District for his illegal activity in connection to Glendora California - so long anthony adams!

A hall of shame will be adding Anthony's picture along with douglas tessitors and gary cliffors's.

It's just old, not blighted! I grew up in the area since 1960 when all that existed was Sunrise Market, C.O. Hardware and the library branch. It does not particularly qualify as blighted in anyone's mind. It's just old and the "free market" does not see it as worth investing in, so when should we do so with tax dollars? I was once a fan of redevelopment, but after some 30 years of watching cities merely get big box stores, larger auto sales lots with bigger signs, and other retail crap, I'm beginning to see "retail blight", vacant auto lots and stores that were originally constructed with redevelopment assistance. Until these municipal "planning" clowns realize that a city boundary sign means nothing and that sales tax is a regional issue, stop the redevelopment give-away. No blight in this area because all you have to do is go east on Arrow Highway and find every store you could want east of Valley Center.

Pardon....sorry but I don't have a problem with Glendora. I like the City and often agree with the decisions made by the elected officials/administrators. I think the city has come a long ways in improving their operations, now that Ziegler is gone. However, on this issue I think they have made a mistake.
The city simply didn't follow the law on this one.....and so far, the LA County Counsel, the Superior Court Judge and the Appeals Court panel all agree. The city has spent $800,000 or so of our tax dollars on legal fees alone. I don't want the Supreme Court to hear the case based on Adams letter.....if they see legal merit in hearing it great, but to hear it because some political hack wrote them a letter would be disappointing.

I guess we just agree to disagree on this one.

The S184829, case has sure raised some eyebrows, what was this guy Anthony Adams thinking when he help author 33333.13 - California state Health & Safety addition.

Now the case is trying to being reviewed in the California Supreme Court of REVIEW, this doesn't count the two previous rejections by lower courts!

With only a 5% chance of evening being looked at for a possilbiltiy of review, since over 250 cases come to the "Califonria Supreme Court of Review."

Yes, those stuffy old republicans who have strayed from their core principles.

Real conservatives feeding the Tea Party frenzy are hard-working Americans. They pay their taxes and ask for little from government in return.

When Republicans vote, they get state Assemblyman Anthony Adams, R-Hesperia.

We're against Republicans that have strayed from the principles of limited government.

Or maybe Glendora has already muddied the water so bad?
