I feel like the man should be put to the death immediately. He has put that family through living torment. I dont feel like he should ever see the inside of a jail cell or prison. PUT HIM TO DEATH!!!!!!

I THINK THEY SHOULD TAKE HIM OUT BACK AND DO THE SAME THING TO HIM EYE FOR A EYE
|

I AGREE THAT HE SHOULD NEVER SEE THE INSIDE OF A JAIL CELL.HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT PAIN HE HAS CAUSED THE FAMILY OF THE PERSON HE KILLED.OR DOES HE CARE.IF HE DID ,THEN HE WOULDNT HAVE PULLED THE TRIGGER IN THE FIRST PLACE.

If you REALLY knew what the Bible says, you would better understand this situation. The CORRECT interpretation of the verse that you loosely quoted is "Thou shalt not MURDER". The original Greek differentiates between the word "Kill" and "Murder" and the root word in this verse is "Murder". Make NO MISTAKE about this, God requires, no He DEMANDS that we carry out earthly justice on murderers. And the sentence for murderers is death.

I feel really bad for the Walker family, but I once knew James. He was as normal as anyone I know. I've written to him since this happened and I still feel that way. And just so anyone who reads this knows my child has never met James in all these years. And for my child I'am glad he got life and not death. If nothing eles my child can meet his father at least once in his life. As I said for my child. Because he did'nt ask for this either.God bless everyone in both families.

I've read many of the blogs here and am surprised at some. None of you know what my brother and his family are still going thru today. My brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor before the sentence was ever handed down, and it was up to the family to decide his fate. If my brother had been physically and mentally able believe me he would have gotten the death sentence. There is not a day passes that we all do not think of Jamie and miss him so much. It was all so senseless and as far as remorse from Hartley, we don't think there is any. All you who think otherwise, come and walk in my brothers shoes, or live one day with his thoughts. Hartley shot Jamie in the face, and did so intentionally. The family could not even say good-bye since the coffin could not be opened. I hope Harley rots in jail. I wish all of you could look into my brothers eyes and see his pain. Jamie was the best, and will forever be my hero. Rest in peace Jamie.

Judy, I agree Jamie was a good friend of mine and I hate that the Hartley man did not recieved the death penataly and everytime I see his little girls my heart breaks. As for the Walker family Jamie was a good man and he did not deserve to die the way that he died. I had spoken to the Jamie at the Red Cross site in Waynesboro earlier in the day and he was his smiling self. I have the Walker family in my prayers. Tell Mr. Dew hello!
