The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1243 is added to the Government Code, to read:
1243.(a) This section shall apply to any elected public officer who
takes public office, or is reelected to public office, on or after January 1,
2006.
(b) If an elected public officer is convicted during or after holding
office of any felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any
bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public
money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes arising
directly out of his or her official duties as an elected public officer, he or
she shall forfeit all rights and benefits under, and membership in, any
public retirement system in which he or she is a member, effective on the
date of final conviction.

How old is Garcia? And did he opt out of Social Security? Lawyer fees will cripple him.

Well Breceda and Blancarte got him into this mess. Maybe they will house and feed his family when he gets old.

Next court appearance November 13. I heard the D A might throw on some more serious charges.

Garcia should consider a plea bargain to a misdemeanor and keep his pension.

At the moment he is only charged with one felony involving a small amount of money.

With more charges like conspiracy and misappropriation of public funds come more jail time.

Blancarte and Breceda convinced Garcia that they needed him in New York when they really wanted him involved. Garcia was the only sitting council member that had not gone to New York and misappropriate public funds.

But Breceda has him convinced that they will beat the charges, Even thou Blancarte plead guilty.

Hey Garcia How is that working out for you.

You will follow Breceda straight to jail
