Fee increases not bad.... but then.... butts slipping in down the park slopes and living (hiding)for free cause of money shortages can continue on free basis unless the state is crazy and tries to collect overnight fees.

Wonder how many butt there be here in H C

Yes a bleeping shame that some blokes must find a place to hide even in the rain in the woods which some call a park

but then some butt got no place to set so they hide in a wood

so if you get butt 500 ft watch out cause your butt is mud

Seriously - we do have a problem from homeless nesting in the parks and most try hard not to be found because they are proud and want to do it their way

Reminds me of the 30's. City parks filled with homeless. No income, could'nt pay the rent. Out they went. I clearly remember men formerly of a higher caliber reduced to selling pens and apples out of a cardboard box. None would take a couple of bits in charity, only honestly earned dough. It was tough tough times. Some of these people are families living in cars parked in a secluded area.
It's not getting better but worse. I fret for my grandchildren.

an hour ago lady reading paper commented on short sales and fouled employment rates; had me remembering back to the thirties and then in '41 some almost said 'war is good'

can remember back then 'veterans marched on DC' to collect promised WWI defered bonus pays to vets; lousey mess, with McArthur and Ike sent to kick vets out of parks in DC

watch our parks for kick-outs

We live in a global economy now. We have become a nation of consumers and no longer manufacturers. Our trade is dependent on other nations. The comparison of 1941 is old hat and to old to use as a standard for today's troubles.

Anyone who suggests a war to improve the economy should be biatch slapped. That apple-picking lady is as useless as her opinion. Tell her to go back to Onion County.

With the Depression of 29, the only thing that brought the country back was WWII, there were bombs to be made, jeeps to be made, tanks etc. After the war when the GI's returned they had money in the pockets to spend, hench Levittown, LI was built for the returning GI's.

We have been at war for 9 years. It has only resulted in a money pit and fattened the wallets of defense contractors like Halliburton. The GOP is blaming Obama for spending $$. Bush blew trillons on this "war" in Iraq. At least Obama is keeping the money home.

I have to agree with you on that. A money making opportunity and an opportunity to even the score incurred when his father was in office.

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld should all be charged with and tried for war crimes.

The American pulbic, while reacting to 9/11 were misled by Bush & Co. who insisted that Iraq was behind it all. No, not by a long shot. It was his kissing cousins, the Saudi's. But Bush took the opportunity of 9/11 to wage his war against Saddam and effectively bankrupt the U.S.A.
War criminal. Period.

I dont resent my mother. She taught me right.
Avoid a-holes at all costs and you will be fine in life. She also said that about civil servants too. She said those are people who cant get a job in the real world.
