I Woke Up To Phone Calls This Morning Of Worried Family Members Who Had Recieved E-mail On This Incident, & I Couldn't Believe it.
I Had No Idea, I Walked Outside To Find KCRA, News 10, Smud, Pg&E, Cops Walking The Area, Fire Department....etc. It Was A Huge Shock. & How Sad Is That? 33 Years Old & You Lose Your Life. Very Sad.

Holy crap! I wonder what happened. Christmas lights/candles, or maybe a dropped cigarette?

In the overwhelming majority of these deadly housefires, the story concludes by stating that there was no working smoke detector in the home. These deaths are so sad, and so unnecessary. Please, test your smoke detectors. And if you can't afford one, your local fire department will give you one, free.

Smoke detectors are very important, but I can tell you this...I held a fire drill about 2 a.m. one night for my kids. I set of our smoke detectors--for about 5 full minutes. My kids slept right through them!!

They have them IN their rooms now.

JLE - we discovered the SAME thing! Most people can sleep through the fire alarms. Now we have the smoke alarms with the emergency lights in each bedroom and the hallway.

Thanks for sharing this comment JLE! You may have just saved someone's life.

I saw a news story demonstrating this. Three kids, and they slept through it for several minutes. It had something to do with children's sleep patterns and how they differ from adults. If I remember right, they were showing a new product - instead of a beeping alarm, the parent tapes a stern message, like, "Jenny! This is your mother! You have to get up, now!" That's what sounded instead of the beep, and it woke the kids up and got them moving in seconds. I don't have kids, so I never looked for the product, but it might be worth googling.

Thanks to everyone for their concerns and comments. We are praying day and night for more information on this crisis. My family hopes to get to the bottom of the death and I will keep you updated on the outcome. My brother in laws name was Rynell Perkins and If anyone saw or heard anything out of the ordinary the night before or morning of please let me know. My email address is [email protected]

Mona, this is a tragedy. I have been searching for someone with this name for years - actually, his father. Would you be able to tell me if his father's name is Larry? I know that Rynell is not a common name. I hope this is not the same person. He also has a brother name Delarrio. Please help me if you can. Thank you.
