I hope a study will be done to see if the removal of the camera results in increased incidents of traffic accidents at that intersection. If there is found to be a significant increase, then the city should reexamine the issue to find a way to get the people who are deliberately running red lights to stop.

.

I totally agree....this intersection is at the University on and off ramp for I10 and Redlands High School....that is a recipe for disaster....the camera was the only thing that kept this mess in check...

I have known multiple people that have gotten hurt at that intersection, and a family member's good friends die. That is the one camera in town that should stay on, I hope it is installed again soon.

Redlands is not removing this money maker voluntarily, looks like they have to. From what i have read all cities that have contracted with redflex will have to refund any monies from the red light cameras...

"A second appellate ruling has struck down a California city's red light camera program as illegal. On September 22, the California Superior Court for the County of San Mateo, Appellate Department overturned motorist Al Bullock's $387 conviction for making a right turn on red. Presiding Judge Mark R. Forcum concisely found that San Mateo's cost neutral contract with an Australian company, Redflex Traffic Systems, was in direct violation of state law.

"Reversed," Forcum wrote in a one-word decision."

I surmise that means that you will "run" the light now! Classic, not only are you killing our youth, ripping off the taxpayers through the corporate welfare program, but now you admit that you will run the light. Thus risking more lives and requiring more taxpayer money to be spent on picking up the mess you created. Not to mention the injuries, mental anguish and exorbitant medical bills all so you can leave to join the rest of lemmings on there way to LA. The very reason it was installed was to reduce accidents. Spectacular statement. Shouldn't be hard for the cops to spot you...Child killer driving a BMW hopped up on HFCS with Ron Paul stickers plastered on it.
What a role model for your kids to look up to. You truly are pathetic. There is a place reserved for people like you!

It costs $6,000 a month for a camera??

On what planet?

For just a fraction of that, we could pay a real live cop to sit in that intersection and snap a photo of any car rolling through the red.

The Police Department and the City Council were warned beforehand this camera was a stupid idea, but they failed to listen. Now, after squandering tens of thousands of dollars, they see for themselves what we had been telling them.

Too bad nobody on the City Council or in the Police Department is capable of doing even the most basic "thinking ahead".

And won't el dope-o be easy to spot... his sikha hanging in stark contrast to his shaved head, dhoti visible only from the shoulders through the window of his battered BMW as it sits by the curb, Ron Paul and NORML stickers for all to see, idling quietly while the Redlands motor officer writes him his 3rd red light ticket this month.

Shoulda taken the on-ramp at Ford, but with those new developments staring him in the face... well, you can almost hear the buildings laughing at him. Echoes of developers unrestricted by visionary councils building as they please, unbeholden to any development plans. Good for them!!!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the surrender flag flying from his radio antennae...

I am not sure what would be easier to spot: a weapon dropped once and never fired or El Dopeo. Heck either way they both must be french and used to capitulating at the first sign of despair. He no doubt is good with flags, white especially, after a stint in the Signal Corps.

Yes Bobby I love to sit at an empty intersection at 4:45AM waiting on a light to change. When I am the only one on the road. Sitting there like a mongoloid is the closest I will know what it feels like to be a government cubicle worker like yourself. Makes me feel bad thinking you wasted your life feeling that way. Do not know who you are worried about me running off the road at that time. But again I consider the source.

p.s. you are welcome for this months check.

Hey el dope-o...

Why are you addressing me while quoting FMJ, freak? Oh, never mind... I guess you're practicing some of that Ron Paul "legalize drugs" philosophy while simutaneously trying to post. Guess they don't teach you how to smoke crack and type in cult school.

So where's your canuck primate friend? Is this his night at the OIA? "Hello, sir, we'd like you to have this flower on behalf of the church of Ron Paul. You know, a $5 donation would help Ron continue to fight for your childs right to get stoned at will..."

So signals and other various traffic laws cause you to suffer under the heavy hand of "the man", eh??? Poor stoner cult boy. I guess civil law only applies to the little people, not the social elite like senators and grain salesmen.

Not sure who Bobby is, but okay. So, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you are talking about a right hand turn. The camera in question was not designed to catch said violators of a right hand turn. If your comment was regarding thru traffic then yes it may be bothersome to wait, but that's the law. The reason those laws and lights exist is to hopefully stop a tragic event from happening. But you are above the law, or so you think, and so the prospect of catching you run the light and paying a fine is the only motivation to doing the right thing. You need to lie on a couch and get some professional help.

Apparently, you have experience being in closets. I do have compassion on you and your self esteem issues of being a mongoloid locked in a closet. Is that what they called you? Shameful it is.

So, its a mongoloid child killer driving a BMW with Ron Paul stickers who lives off the government running the red light at 4:45. Should be easy enough to catch.

Your life is predictable and simplistic. The lines you use to lure dates are lost the first time they find out you peddle grain. So back to the sleepless nights that alcohol can no longer numb and to only repeat the days events again, again and again. The movie Groundhog Day was not a fictitious portrayal of a news anchor, but an autobiographical depiction of a meaningless contributor to society - a grain salesman.

The crazy thing is that when this redlight camera was presented at City Council, someone asked if they had considered putting in a left turn lane and light. The police chief got red in the face and said no. Perhaps they will try that next.

I doubt he got red in the face like you claim. His demeanor is nothing like that. If his face was red it could have been from something other than the anger you are trying to make it loook like.

So DN, you are saying that you know the Chief SO WELL that you can say what does or does not cause him to become red in the face?

You really are as crazy as everyone here says
