Just a few Comments, he Did get off light, five armed Bank Robberies with a loaded firearm, I believe the law says that each bank robbery carries a five year sentence plus another five years per robbery because of the use of a firearm. He could have got 50 years,(a life sentence)

Second, this guy got a forever life pension, which he will continue to collect in prison, Until the day he dies, after working only eight years, sweet deal. People in private industry could work 30 years for less.

A family man doesn't stick guns in people's face for his own personell greed, i.e. nice home in wealthy area, big S.U.V. A good father doesn't terrorize and victimize other people's Kids, Brothers, Sisters, Moms, Dads. This guy didn't care who he had traumatized forever.

Beacause your father drinks doesn't mean it's okay to grab your gun and rob innocent people.

Lastly there in nothing polite about a big goofball a-hole sticking a loaded gun in the face of barley minimum wage employee.

Guys, we are in a recession, peopole are out of work, loosing their homes, this guy did what he did for pure greed for himself.

Bottom line, this man was living beyond his means. He got a life time medical pension, which is tax free, but is around fifty percent of his base pay. Not that much, but, if he had even gotten a security job somewhere he might have been able to make it. But no, he had to rent a house in the better part of Whittier and also buy an expensive Toyota suv. He should have cut back and do without some of the luxuries. He has disgraced the PPD by his actions and has traumatized many people by his actions. I pity him, but, he got what he deserved. One last thing. Chuey, you are a complete idiot if you think thirteen years is a sweet deal. You may be used to doing that kind of time, but, I doubt Cantu will find it easy.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. I've been poor, and I didn't rob a god-damned bank! What you do is DOWNSIZE. Move to somewhere you can afford -- out of state if necessary. But no, he robbed not one, but SEVERAL banks...?!

Public employee "sweet deal" pensioners are retiring as early as age 50. At our expense! And this clown decides to hold up banks after swearing to uphold the law, years ago, for Pasadena Police.

......Throw the this jerk in for the full 13years! He's a discrace to every man/woman who ever wore the uniform.

Your right it shouldn't be easy....however, he should have recieved 25 years for multiple robberies. He didn't disgrace Pasadena PD, they disgraced themselves by hiring dirty cops like him. That department has some big probelems...Cantu was just one of them....

Bottom line is Cantu liked to be flashy and give off the appearance that he was rolling in the dough...come to think of it, makes you wonder where the wad of cash he used to like to flash came from???? He absolutely lived beyond his means, it got over his head and he needed to resort to robbing banks. He had several options, move out of his RENTED home in a very nice area, have his wife get a job since his kids were school age already (but that would ruin the appearance), or simply downsize like so many other families have had to do - and remember, he committed his crimes before we were in a recession! Labeling Cantu as a family man is an insult to the millions of real family men who get up each morning and make an honest attempt to support their families the old fashioned way, by earning it - not stealing it.

Put your money where your mouth is; name the "big" problems PPD has. And just exactly what Chief are you talking about? Pasadena P.D. is probably the finest Dept. in the San Gabriel Valley. Cantu, who hasn't been a cop since 1996, in no way impacts the Officers working at the PPD. I really doubt if you could find one officer who sympathizes with him. During the time that he was an officer, he never brought disgrace upon himself or the Dept. Don't go bad mouthing the PPD when know nothing about it or it's personnel. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that the only thing you know about the PPD is what the inside of the jail looks like.

I agree with you 100%! At least we do not have to worry about being Vince's victims anymore. There was nothing polite about what he did.
