At the risk of sounding negative, Applebee's doesn't offer much for the money. I could have thought of a several other restaurants such as Chili's, Olive Garden, BJ's Brewery, PF Chang, Cheesecake Factory, Lucille's BBQ that would have been great in that shopping center.

On another note, I wonder what makes Applebee's or the City of Azusa think that restaurant is going to make it, when Sizzler across the street closed it's doors...

That is taxpayers money these buffoons are handing out.Guess Rocah doesn't get out much.Applebee's is a huge chain and as far as the food goes it sucks.I've been to a few in other cities and the service is horrendous.

Hopefully this will be a good fit for Applebee's and Azusa. The city has made good progress with Target opening and Citrus Crossing being nearly filled with tenants. Yes other restaurants that were mentioned by other posters could be good as well, but they have not applied.

I agree, Applebee's is not that good and too expensive for what you get. Someone is living in dreamland if they think PF Chang or a Cheesecake Factory will come to Azusa. Sorry, simple economics, the average family cannot afford that. We had Il Forno, a good Italian restaurant, but it closed. Better would be a Carrow's or Millie's. We don't need anymore BBQ places, we already have good ones. yes, Olive Garden (you think that is authentic Italian food? A restaurant started by General Mills)and Chilis is crap. We need good independent restaurants. However, Max's just moved out of Azusa because they claimed no one in the city would help them relocate to a bigger restaurant. Hmm, what about that empty Sizzler building?

What are you talking about??? Max's wants to open a second location in Monrovia, but isn't closing here (let alone "just moved out of Azusa").

Sounds like the grown-ups are playing the kids' game of "telephone" again...
