If that is true that officer should be fired, ordered to pay for the insurance claim of the vans driver!

Actually, the sheriff had already arrived at the scene when the city wanted to get in on the action. They had NO business going with lights or sirens to the scene when the sheriff clearly had it under control. It wasn't the city's business and now look at what has happened. The day the sheriff needs the city's help is the day hell will freeze over. That officer should be reprimanded and made to be held accountable. It probably wouldn't hurt for people to voice their concerns to the mayor and Wayne, letting them know how you feel. The emergency was over and the sheriff had the scene UNDER CONTROL. Remember that when you want to defend the city cops for their actions.

Really? Thats funny bc the city was going for backup bc the people ran from the store via the back door. But let me guess that's because the cpd's nose was hurting not because the robbers may or may not be fleeing into the southend of town? I mean damn maybe u people should become police officer's you seem to know so much about the job.

They called for back up, it is the duty of the officer to go when called upon. Lights and Sirens were on. Sad situation, sure hope all involved are okay.

You couldn't pay me enough money to be a police officer in Circleville. LOL! The majority of them cheat on their wives, they are dirty, they will do ANYTHING to get a conviction, and they are an embarrassment to the badge. Last but not least, 98% of them look like they are about to collapse from the extra weight they carry around. What the hell could they have done to help the sheriff? LMAO! Our local po-po's are the laughing stock of law enforcement. I cringed and was mortified when they were on parade duty at the pumpkin show. It looked like a sumo parade. One out of towner looked at me and said, boy, you all breed big in this area. Nope. I wouldn't even think about working in this shit hole of a town for the CPD. I do have pride.

Well since you know its a shit hole you should know what they are up against! With all the drug addicts and dumbass people who want to steal anything that isnt bolted down they do risk their "over weight asses" everyday. Look at the court site they do bust a lots of people with drugs and or stealing. If you wouldn't do their job don't sit here criticizing them.

Your town is only as good as your law enforcement agency. In this case, ours is a joke and will continue to be so until someone comes in and cleans up our joke of department. Really? What do they "risk"? LOL! Bout the only thing they "risk" is a heart attack when one of the junkies run from them. I'm going to bed now. I'm quite sure you are probably a spouse to an officer and this is why you are so adamant they are such fabulous people. In reality, only about 2% of CPD are good, decent human beings. Unfortunately, if you are a spouse, there is a 98% chance your hubby might be playing around and everyone knows it but you. Goodnight.

well the next time they have one of the well known heroin addicts pulled over they can call you to come search for their dirty hep and hiv infested needles okay? Or at the next meth lab bust you can walk in first and wonder if the place is going to blow! Nope I am definitely not a spouse of cop but u do respect law enforcement and the job they do. Goodnight. I still have few hours of work if you would like to finish this conversation.

The lack of common sense people who visit this site has, makes me understand why Circleville is the way it is. No the dea isn't involved in the drug bust here. They should come and help clean it up. But I think the cpd along with probation has been doing a excellent job recently.

You obviously know nothing about the sheriffs department! I find it hilarious you defend them like they are outstanding people. They sure didn't have the situation under control when the robber wasn't even apprehended!

At nosy....Obviously the sheriff's office didn't do THEIR job if the crooks got away...since you said it was "under control". How in the world would you know if it was "under control". Perhaps you are the one they are looking for????

I heard the same at pkin show about our over weight cops. They keep arresting the same users over and over. It helps for a min. Need to arrest the big dealers. Cops are human too . They make mistakes. I doubt the sheriff or cpd had time to get there before suspects got away anyway. Our town is like others full of junkie theives. This will keep happening until suppliers are in prison. I dont get spending $ to stick a needle in me and nod out. Whats the point? Then try to hide it from family and friends . Ask for help. We all know its addicting. Hope ppl in van are ok. Cops should approach intersections more cautious even in robbery cases.

Yes they are supposed to show down through intersection to avoid these types of accidents. Probably just freaked and was in such a hurry to get there. If the judge in this town would lay the hammer down on people once in a while maybe this town would get better. But if your only going to get probation for everything....this is what will continue to happen.
