Girls and women around here are stupid to choose drug addicts and dealers over their own kids. Just a bunch of stupid, brainless, tasteless bitches. Get professional help and get over yourself.

No one put a needle in their arm or made them pop pills. They have kids and should know better to even get the addiction. People just look for the easy way out and blame others for their actions. Time to grow up get help and seek rehab. If not for their own good then do it for their kids.

Plenty in my family had addictions and I suffered a lot too. The whole family is dragged and brought along in the addiction too. So smart ass , if you want to get help and change than you will. You have to want to better yourself. I've had anorexia and depression and anxiety so I understand. Where there is a will there is a way!

I beg to differ. When you wake up in the morning you have a choice as to when it happens by use of an alarm clock. You then have a choice as to what clothes you wear or what you eat.. or if you even eat at all.

Just as you have a choice when presented with a needle to say "No way am I doing this." Addiction is an after affect of saying "Oh God yes stick it in me." It isn't just born within a person who made the decision that said "No"

If you have never been addicted to drugs don't be so quick to judge. Sure, there was a choice involved and a decision to make and sometimes you make the wrong one and a mistake is made and the consequences are huge and not realized until its all over one way or the other. It don't matter which drug or alcohol, it's pure evil.

but the fact remains, the user has the choice. you know how addictive heroin and meth are. you know you have an addictive personality or are genetically prone to addiction, yet you make the choice to take that road. the people i feel sorry for are the families, parents and children who did NOT make a choice yet have to live with the consequences of someone else's CHOICE!

The addict has a desire to escape who they really are. When one drug stops working they move on to the next. Its all about how they feel about themselves and if they can identify it and correct it. The drug is a symptom of an underlying problem, if it goes unnoticed the disease will progress to harder drugs. They are born with the brain that is susceptible to addiction, depending on their life's situations is if they'll seek out drugs to escape being themselves. I know to non-addicts this sounds ridiculous but it is true based on tons of research and studies of addict's behavior. If you have relatives or friends suffering with addiction and want to help them attend some alanon or AA meetings to better understand what's actually going on with them and how you can help them.

@"Addiction"
I believe that what you said might be true of some people, but I also believe that there are a lot that are just selfish and only think about having a good time.

@"how to girl"
I don't know the Steph. G. that is also mentioned in the thread, but I will give her at least a little props because she gave her kid up. Is it crappy that she would choose that life style over her own chid... Yes. But I have more respect for anyone who realizes what they are doing to/around their child isn't right and seeks a way to correct it. Even if it isn't the way we would do it, at least they are giving the child a chance at a better life then they would have otherwise had with them. If only more would do the same we would have a better chance of ending the cycle!!

I've been through it with my son. He stole from me and my husband. He stole from his siblings. He stole from everyone. He lied. Swore he would get clean over and over. We finally had an interventionand he delined the offer fr help. But unlike most, we held tight to our ultimatum. And he never got clean. The day I got the call that he was dead, I was relieved. We paid to put him in the ground and that was the last thing he stole from us. Because it was his doing. I miss my son. And although he's only been dead for two years, he was actually gone 8 years ago when he started doing pills and ultimately wound up on heroin when he could no longer steal or afford the pills. Our family is fine. It would have been nice if it hadn't happened. But it did. He knew about addiction. We spoke about it often as he grew up. The problem is, opiate addiction is nearly impossible to overcome. You're better off to have an intervention, hold strong to your ultimatums, and don't be afraid to write them off. If you let them hang on, YOU WILL BECOME A VICTIM. And they WILL END UP DEAD. Cut your losses and move on. There is no requirement or law saying just because you birthed them that you have to let them abuse you.

Addiction is a choice when you finally decided that your done with it.and I'm not talking about rehab and jail making you be done with it or hitting rock bottom because that sh!t doesn't work it's when YOU WANT TO STOP AND YOUR DONE no body can make you stop not even your kids you have to do it for yourself first and you have to want it more than anything you've ever wanted .......

I'm just curious. What was the highest grade level you achieved in order to attain such remarkably bad spelling and grammatical skills? Your post LITERALLY made my head hurt.
