I do not know if it is true, but i have heard that the Democratic Party in Pickaway County is not backing Robbie.
I heard that the party is furious with the Radcliff's for something related to corruption.
Has anyone else heard about this?
I don't know if has anything to do with the Unsolved Mystery TV show that suggested that the Radcliff's has something to do with a murder. I think this can be found on utube by typing in The Circleville Letters.
I was at one of the meetings Lawless had and I never heard him say one bad thing about Robbie. In fact he only said great things about the road deputies. But he did say that we need more.
At the meeting Lawless said that the Sheriff's Office spends like 1,200.00 a month on DONUTS FOR THE INMATES. I can see why we can't afford more deputies if we spend money on donuts for inmates.
Another thing I was concerned about the qualification of Lawless so I did some research and i found that he and Robbie have the same job title. I also found that when a request was made for the reports Robbie has taken, traffic tickets Robbie has issued, and daily log sheets Robbie has done, none were produced.
Oh yeah i forgot people are talking about Lawless not having any pay stubbs, if you ask me it takes alot more of a man to put his life on the line for free than it does a man sitting in the office making 60 to 70 thousand dollars a year.
I am part of the Pickaway County Democratic Party and we support Rob Radcliff 100%. If you haven't heard Lawless slamming everyone, you are living under a rock!

The Democratic Party of Pickaway County supports Rob Radcliff 100%. I am on that committee and the committee has given Rob Radcliff it's endorsement. He is the right and "only" qualified person for Sheriff.
Sheriff Radcliff and Pickaway County Deputies have worked tirelessly to keep drugs out of Pickaway County. They have been very successful in working with other law enforcement agencies in making arrests only the 23 corridor. If one could get the Circleville Chief to cooperate, quite possibly more would be arrested.**note, the Sheriff has never suggested the City hasn't been cooperative. That's a general perception tho.
Rob Radcliff is the only person who meets the qualifications of the Ohio Revised Code to be Sheriff of Pickaway County.

So there are a few mentions as to LAWLESS bad mouthing others and this is the first I've heard this. from what I have seen Jason has been running a clean campaign and it has more of a grass roots feel. I'm just curious what these examples are...

so what your posts say is that it was decided in April that LAWLESS was qualified to run and it isn't his problem that South BLOOMFIELD'S CHIEF and mayor lacked in keeping files on their hours. btw they do turn in timesheets. And as for the other article, since when is the act of a man's wife fall on his shoulders? This isn't the 1950s anymore. I'm sure she knows better and made her own decision as most woman do these days.

Weii I Have Not Heard Lawless Say One Bad Word About Robbie To This Point. But Maybe Some Of You Should Look At The Records FOf Both Lawless And Radcliff And See That Radcliff Has Never Made An Arest. And Lawless Put His Life On The Line For Free To Help His Community. So I Will Vote Lawless For Sheriff To Help Make This County A Safer Place To Live. Jason Lawless 4 Sheriff.

I have also attended one of Lawless' meet and greets and never heard him say anything negative about the Radcliffs. He had much to say about the respect he has for the road deputies and the employees of the Sheriff's Dept.
He stated that he felt Pickaway County was in danger of being over run by crime which has infiltrated the south end of Columbus, because criminals are finding that they have plenty of time to get in and out of Pickaway County because of the slow response time of our Sheriff's Dept.
Lawless seemed very knowledgeable to me and has a clear plan on how to pull together all of the law enforcement agencies in our County to make us all safer.

At the meet and greet I attended for Lawless, I saw a huge book of his certifications and qualifications. There was no doubt in my mind he is qualified.
The State reviewed his qualifications and (without any further investigation) certified him to run for Sheriff. Presumably, the State saw the same documentation that the Pickaway County Board of Elections did. Sorta makes you "hmmmm?", doesn't it?

KATT,

If you read the full article to the end you will see Mr. Lawless stated exactly this, "When asked about the charges, Mr. Lawless said, "I'm quite certain she'll be found not guilty when she goes to court".

What, does he think he is above the law as well as his family. Sounds that way to me.

Also, I am very sure the democratic party fully supports Robert Radcliff.

I'm going to go ahead and jump in here. I'm not one to try to change someone's mind, but when I feel strongly about something I will voice my opinion and I think what some of you are saying is very wrong. This will be my first year voting, & I don't even live in Pickaway County, however I do work, go to school in, and represent Pickaway County. I have absolutely nothing against Sheriff Radcliff, but with that said I have never worked for or with him, and hearing from people who have has somewhat swayed my opinion. I know Jason Lawless very well, and those of you saying he's 'not qualified' can maybe answer the question; How did someone get on the ballot without having the qualifications? Also, I have been apart/around his campaign since the beginning & not once has he said anything negative specifically about Robbie, or anyone in particular. What I believe Jason Lawless has a problem with is the safety of the county regarding the number of deputies on patrol at any one point in time, and the drug problem that involves everyone in Pickaway County. Now, to argue either of these points would be absurd considering statistics clearly prove there is a problem in both areas. I believe another problem addressed in his campaign involves the budget, which also, upon seeing, should also be a concern to all Pickaway County residents. Now, as you can tell, my name is 'independent' because I'm not trying to sway opinions, nor do I have a political preference, so no one needs to jump to the defensive like other responses on this page. That is all I have to say.

Okay, while I was writing my last post 'MDP' posted that Jason Lawless seems to think he is above the law, what I have to say to that is the hearing, or court date, however you want to word it, was postponed, therefore, there were obvious reasons, ('facts' in the Circleville Herald being possibly incorrect from the incident), so maybe he had actual reasons for what he said. Let's just wait and see how it turns out before we point fingers, please.

I don't believe MDP is really pointing the finger other than the Obvious. From what I can see, Lawless seems to be the only one making the headlines and not in a good way. Other than some post on online forms have heard nothing but great things about Rob Radcliff. Just my 2 cents.

Something that I noticed is Lawless is always talking about the patrol, response times, and not enough enforcement on the road. I believe he even said something in some youtube video or something like there are only 2 patrol units out on Friday and Saturday nights. That is a bunch of crap. There is something called overlapping shifts that cover the county with 6 or more units on those days and nights and I always see the cars out on patrol. I believe all this information is public record and can be found very easly if requested. Not to mention that I would imagine there is more to a sheriff's office than just a patrol division. I have heard nothing from him on how he plans to manage Administration, dispatching, corrections, special operations, or any other division a sheriff's office would have. From my understanding a sheriff's office is only responsible for running an adult corrections facility and serving court records. The title of this form says it all.

He hangs around one of the girls in the trailer park an awful lot for a married man. Not saying much for his morals. Call 'em like I see 'em. Maybe there is a reason but it doesn't look good!

Hmmmm,

I am not really sure what you are referring too. Nor am I making any speculations towards either canadiate of such. That kind of stuff is way off topic. I am putting it out there that Lawless does not seem to know that the road patrol is the only division that needs attention. Radcliff is a better guy for the job and that's the bottom line.

I've been reading all these comments about both candidates and can no longer resist commenting since so many of you have brought up Lawless's character and included his family. I personally witnessed during the Pickaway County Fair Robbie Radcliff and his mother Betty standing beside the Sheriff's trailer, with Betty flipping off Jason Lawless and two other men with him. She was yelling so loudly, that Robbie had to restrain her and escort her out of the area.
Secondly, you've mentioned Jason's wife and that he thinks he's above the law. Her case is still going through the system. But how come none of you have brought up the fact that Robbie's son is a military deserter, and was given a "bad conduct" discharge. FUNNY HOW THAT NEVER MADE IT INTO THE CIRCLEVILLE HERALD. My understanding is that there was even a warrant for his arrest before he turned himself in.
So, my opinion is: Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
