My tax preparer told me it would take 21 days to get my refund. For those who have recieved their refunds, is that about how long it takes? That seems longer than in years past. I was planning to use my refund to pay my heating bill. I was told that PICCA can provide emergency assistance for those in need. Does anyone know about this?

Piccadilly can you with pip and heap to pay your bill. But yes its true on the taxes. You can go to a IRS website it will tell you when you will receive your refund. Go to where's my refund and you will need to put your social security number and how you filled and the amount they told you that you will get back. WWW.IRS.gov that's the website good luck (:

Until the funds run out, if you qualify each county's community action programs is providing up to $450 toward your heating source if you qualify. Propane, gas, wood, electric, etc.

I have a coworker who lets her gas bill pile up over the holidays and takes it to picca every year once it gets up to 450.00. I love that ppl can get help if they need it but I hate to see ppl take advantage of it.

You said heap is not funded by tax payer money. It is a federally program which is ran by federal goverment.Which the federally government is ran off the taxes they take out of each working person. HEAP stand for Home Assistance Program you can go to Economic Opportunity Act it was signed by President Johnson back in 1964.

You must be confusing HEAP with PIP. PIP is a service that is provided by your local co op that averages your bill based on the previous years Bill. HEAP is exactly what. " Jeannie" said it is, federally funded program (said by tax payers) to assist low income households with their heating/cooling source. Im guessing you let your bill go bc you anticipated a faster refund.....just guessing.

Hey, Tarltucky you must piss someone off. How do they not know that you are not struggling. The comment was make that heap was not taxpayer money. And you reply with your answer.I know people that fill out their taxes last weekend and was told they would be getting them back around the 10th of this month.I don't know why they are getting all bent out of shape we all struggle one time or other.

Mine was put in the 30th i was told the 10th.If you call the IRS hotline to check on it the recording says 21 days from the date you filed.I struggle sometimes everyone does but I've never road on 3 months of not paying my power bill.AEP don't threaten to shut off anyone's power until the 3rd month of non payment even then they will work with you unless being a non paying customer is a regular thing for that person. I was in the hospital in June so when the bill came out in July i called and let them know i could not pay they were very nice took Junes bill cut it up in 3 payments added to July August & Sept bills and i payed no-then in July.Someone just don't want to pay there bills !!!
