I have never read "Thornbirds",if it is that good, I will. As far as my favorite book, that is hard to say. I love so many. "The Stand" by Stephen King", is
really good. "One Flew Onver the Cuckoo's Nest" is another good read."On the Road" by Keroac made me want to hitch hike cross country, I have read it numerous times. Yes, I am married.

When I was a teen I used to like reading books by an author named V.C. Andrews. That was probably one of my favs. Never read Thornbirds. What's it about?

I love Stephen King as well. My daughter forced me to read Twilight. It was relatively painless I guess. I watched the movie with her but I guess I just wasn't that impressed. I love vampire stories but the whole romance thing kind of weirded me out I guess.

Ann Rice has the market for vampires for me. Hated twilight. I guess you need to be a woman, or gay, to appreciate those books.

Last time I looked. I guess it is never too late to change that in this day and age.

Well bless you friend (anon). Even though I don't believe the disappointment comment. Beauty is in the heart and soul, not the outward appearance. It is nice to meet decent people on here. A refreshing change!

I am not married. I loved thornbirds, it is my moms favorite book as well.
I am scared of Stephen kings books, they really spook me. Never read the twilight series, but Harry potter and lord of the rings books are really good!

I have truly loved everything I have read by Tolkien. I think the movies are great too.

Did you find the incest element in "Flowers" as creepy as I did? Although it was realistic. Being locked up like that with hormones raging.

Yes it was a little awkward for me. It reminded of the movie "Blue Lagoon". There are other stories by that author that sort of go along the same line. I guess I liked the drama. Only in books though. Can't handle drama in my own life. I avoid it like the plague!
