Does anyone on here work as an RN at Berger? I'm considering moving into the area. I love my current job but will seriously need to think about finding a closer job if I move to Circleville.
Of course I'm wondering about wages and benefits, but I'm more concerned about whether nurses are given adequate resources to care for patients properly. Do you feel like Berger is a good place to work? What are the pros and cons of being an employee there? Is management responsive to your needs? Do coworkers foster a positive environment? Any feedback from current and former employees is welcome. Thank you.

I don't work there but run EMS here in Pickaway, the ER leaves a lot to be desired at times. I think it just depends what section of the hospital you will work and what shift. Probably like many other places, has it's ups and downs.

I probably would not take to much advice or to many comments serious from this site though.

Why on earth wrote:
<quoted text>why on earth would you consider moving to circleville? The place is a drug infested nest of rats.

All of Ohio is plagued with drug addicts who pay for their habit on the taxpayer dime...I guess Circleville is no different. I'm sure Berger ER has their share of frequent flyer OD's that need intubated... until they clear their drug of choice...and sign out AMA...particularly near the first of the month...just like where I work.

Thank you for your comment uh, "Blaaaahhh"
I expected tons of idiots who probably have never held a job to waste my time. I was just hoping a few hard working nurses would pop in and give me an insider's view on Berger.

If u r looking for a great nursing job, there is always posts from the state.Google "State of Ohio Jobs" State jobs pay better, have better benefits and better pension. May try the prison in Chillicothe. I know a nurse there that says its so laid back she and the other nurse often take turns napping on third shift...Over time seems to be plentiful and nice on the wallet.

Who knows about the job of the security guys that cruise the parking lots? I would love that job, looks like it would be super easy...I could park there in that van with my lap top and still not miss a beat on here lol...so is that a Berger job or is it outsourced to a security company?

If you smoke, never admit it to them. RNs are very over used. You do run into some very dedicated nurses there and some don't give a damn. Just like anywhere else. ER really does have nice nurses working there. Nice drs, too. Caf. food is much better than patient food.

Very strict about calling off. The NAs do a lot and they work very well together as a team.

Pay depends on previous experience, previous pay and shift.

Do look into going to work for the prison system. The inmates like their nurses and won't let anyone mess with them. Can't beat the pay and benefits. Days off with pay, retirement, raises. NOT TOO BAD AT ALL. People there sometimes are backstabbers just a little more than at other jobs. People let you know who they are. Even the inmates let you know. Not hard work like in a hospital. Not the hair pulling, high pressure like at a hospital.

I am surprised that some people just have nothing better to do than to sit on this site. I am sorry that a topic that was originally supposed to be about RN positions at Berger Hospital turned into a rant about the housekeeping dept., that you are correct is contracted out. The nurses at Berger hospital are nice, smart, and in the Maternity dept. very fun. I love working here, everyone makes you feel like a part of the Berger family even if you are contracted out through other services. I hope this helps in your decision of whether or not too choose Berger as a place of employment. And as for whoever you may be that decided to post things on this silly site, there might be a reason you are an "ex" employee and not a current one. If you want to make someone look bad, or make someone get all worked up over things that you say, try somewhere else, because even if I lost my job because of you it would not faze me because I know that I am a goodhearted hardworking person. Your anger should be applied elsewhere. Thanks :)

The manager in housekeeping is a good person. She can't control the he said she said crap. Some of the employees need to grow up and be adults that they are. It's a good place to work.
