very true....... there are plenty of breeds medium to large that can cause bite and be hard to handle without proper obedience and socialazation .

I agree! It is not the Pitbull only, they are loving dogs if proper raised.

It seems to be where I live people like to drop their dogs off instead of taking them to a shelter or having them put down. Why do people decide they don't want their dogs anymore and think it's just fine to dump them in the country. They dump all kinds of dogs. After awhile the dogs form packs and the strongest is the leader of the pack. It's usually a Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix. Now we have a pack of feral dogs running around breeding. I understand the dogs are hungry but they are not my responsibility or my neighbors. We don't have time to chase them down, pen them up and wait until the dog catcher comes to get them. Farmers have a right to protect whats theirs. Shoot the damn things and be done with them. No I don't just single one breed out I'm an equal opportunity vicious dog eliminator. So you're a nurse practitioner, congrats, nice job. So you're a professional pill pusher and very educated. People, control your dogs, take responsibility for your dogs, and don't allow them to run loose and there will be no problems.

My 74 year old neighbor had 2 pit's that were her babies and she loved them to death. They loved her very much. She had a large yard and her dogs had plenty of toys and a swimming pool. One day as she let them out side and was cleaning up their dog waste they loved her to death. My husband jumped the fence to help her and he was badly injured. By the time police arrived my neighbor was dead.The dogs had always been so sweet and friendly. This happened 18 years ago and i know 3 other families that have had their pit's snap and go bad.These were nice dogs that were socialized and with good families. Why would these dogs snap?

Why, because some happend you didn't see all those years. A dog snap for a reason. You don't know what went down inside of her home, or how they maybe been treated. So, an outsided loking in and don't know the details is not a good judgement! Any dog can snap, any breed, I have seen it, it is also statistic that any dog any breed at one time of your lifetime bite! Pitbulls unfortuantly have strong teeth and jaws. Just like a Boxer same thing. Please take the time, look up a golden retriever after 10 years, bit her owner's face off in France, go google on line and check it out, it is not the Pitbull always. Stop, making inflammentory statements against that Breed, read educate yourself.

My neighbor and i took her dogs on a nice walk every day unless the weather was bad. Ellie was a very active 74 year old lady who lived alone. I was in her house at least 3 times a week. Her dogs had the run of her house and slept in her bed with her.Children and animals were drawn to her. She loved her dogs who were 4 and 5 years old and she treated them better and took better care of them than some people do their kids. I did not make any inflammentory statements against the breed. I told only what i know happened and it involved pit's. Had it been another breed i would have told about it instead.

Ok, that is all your opinion's. Again another breed could have done the same! Don't need to address because it was a Pit or Pit's! The Breed is not for everyone, they strong minded, physically strong etc.. but they lovable... I am sorry that happen to that lady / neighbor, it sounds like she took care of the dog's but some must have been happened they attacked her, there is now way a dog just say to the other come on we going to attack and kill our owner now, who is so good to us all our life's!

Remember the neighborhoods...Price Hill, South Fairmount, Westwood, remember when you were little and you could go to the Zoo, remember being able to go downtown on the bus. yep those other things are gangs,drug dealers,prostitutes car thiefs, crack heads, selling guns illegaly.theres so many murders in example madisonville,roselawn,bond hill,south fairmount,otr the list goes on and on at least its mainly black on black crime there killing there own over drugs and gang related. the older black generation must be ashamed of this.do you think cincinnati will be like detroit in 10 years?i use to be proud to say that im from cincinnati but anymore..... theres a saying when the jews move out the blacks move in. so many neighborhoods use to be very safe and nice the just turn over. oh a couple others north college hill, mt.healthy

Ohio, overall is a bad place to live! And Cincinnati has been bad since I remember and my first time game to Ohio back in late 80s! Ohio, has a big problem, racism is still going on. People live on the west side blacks white over on the other side. Ohio, overall is a dangerous place just like Detroit!

I had to go to Cincinnati yesterday and I had to go through a black area and it's a shame it looks the way it does. Whose fault is it that's the neighborhood looks the way it does with filth, trash, homes and buildings not being taken care of? Who? The area says the people who live here have no respect for them self or anyone else. It's a damn shame. It's not the white peoples fault it looks like crap. They don't live there. Well, I do not like the city living either. Overall I do not like Ohio. Have ex in laws there, I am not from there, I am actually from Europe. And when I came my first time to Ohio, Dayton, Cleveland etc.. I told my family back home, is like in a movie Miami Vice back in the days!:) My Husband would NOT let me go anywhere alone I remember.
