Do you know how sick I am of seeing all this gay stuff on Topix? You can't open this thing up without reading, "Where should we have the Gay Pride Parade, "When should we have the Gay Pride Parade, "What is the hottest gay hookup spot in Garden City", "What's the best thing about gay people", etc., etc., etc. Why don't you people get a life? I don't care what you do as long as you don't do it in my city!!! Get out of Garden City and stay out! Is that too much to ask?

Yes I am gay and yes I am a trucker, sorry all you homophopes that I don't fit the stereotype of a homosexual. Anyway, enough straight bashing, YES I find Garden City very gay friendly, that is if the Country Corner is an example of how all of Garden City is. I am always treated with respect and have had many opportunities for "surprise sex" with many of the Country Corner customers as they are bending over to put gas in their 4 wheelers, etc. I love Garden City, I wish more towns in Kansas were like it!!! Go Garden City, GO!!

Go Garden City, GO!! This is exactly what I mean. Yes you may think Garden City is great, you're treated with respect, etc., however I'm one of the people that you pulled the little "surprise sex" thing on at the Country Corner. Believe me, that isn't how, if I wasn't completely caught off balance, would have welcomed you to town. There I was filling the ol' Dodge with go juice when you ran across the parking lot, pulled down my pants and starting humping me like a pitt bull in heat. It wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't on my way to choir practice. I barely had time to clean myself up!!! From now on don't assume that everybody you run into at the CC is into your perverted life style. Leave Garden City, just LEAVE!!!

Is Garden City gay friendly? Well if my experience with this fine little town is the norm, I've got to answer with a fabulous YES!!! I just moved to Garden a couple of weeks ago and decided to stop by the Country Corner to do a little trolling. Anyway I said, "Hi" to the people when I walked through the door then went over to check out the Hersheys. I was bent over, oblivious to what was going on around me when the next thing I knew my pants were pulled down around me and a pygmy,(that's no kidding..a pygmy) was on my bung like white on rice. It was the best surprise sex I've ever had. Keep it up Garden City, you're the best!!!!

"Surprise" sex is so "yesterday" that the fine people of GC have developed a new fun way of "just saying hello". It's called "Ambush" sex. What they do is have a group of the local gay crowd hang around the Country Corner and when a guy that's obviously "alternative" comes prancing through the doors of that fine establishment they immediately surround him, throw a sack over his head and drag him into the bathroom,(or honeymoon suite as they call it). They then proceed to drill for chocolate syrup like there's no tomorrow. After the ambush is over they give the lucky dude a gift certificate for $20 in gas and a free meal at Sammy's in GC. I think that is so awesome and so gay friendly! Hey, I didn't believe you until I stopped by the CC and whamo!, I was "ambushed". It was so great and so cool. Also the meal at Sammy's was scrumptious...I highly recommend eating there. Also with gas prices as high as they are the $20 gift certificate made it real handy. I've been able to drive out to the pickle park at the Dighton corner a bunch on that freebie. Keep it up Garden City and Country Corner, you're the best.

Yes Garden City is absolutely the most gay friendly city in the state of Kansas. Please check out the pickle park at the Dighton corner. It's been redone and is the perfect romantic hideaway. I know, I hang out there. It's the greatest.

I think that is so awesome and so gay friendly! I'm a senior, in my 80's...but that doesn't mean I can't live the alternative life style to it's fullest. That's why I was so pleased to find the info regarding "ambush" sex at the Country Corner. Like so many others I didn't believe it, after all if sounds too good to be true it probably is, right? Anyway I decided I would give it a try, I didn't have anything to lose so I stopped by the CC last Saturday night. As you suggested I walked over to the candy bar display and bent over as if I were going to pick up a Hersheys. Within 5 seconds I was "ambushed"!!! I haven't had anything happen to me that good since my first visit to San Francisco when I was in my twenties. They gave me the full treatment..."honey moon suite", drilled for chocolate syrup, the whole meal deal. Talk about being thrilled, I was!!! Anyway I did take advantage of the free meal at Sammy's,(scumptious) and have used the gas money for my daily cruise to the "pickle park" at the Dighton corner. If you haven't been there please go, you can meet some great people out in the wide open spaces. Anyway, thanks Garden City, you're the best and keep it gay friendly to the max.

Yes Garden City is very gay friendly. I recently moved to Garden from Kalvesta, Ks,(Kalvesta is extremely gay friendly also) for the cultural opportunities available here. I have not been disappointed. What I love especially are the gay mixers that are held on Friday nights at the Country Corner and the "Gay Brunch" at Sammy's on Saturday morning.(By the way try the "creamed brocolli" for an exotic and erotic treat...it'll put love in your tummy, if you catch my drift). You won't find a more gay friendly and accepting city than Garden City, Kansas. By the way..Garden City I love you!!!!

Glad Im Gay

I'm glad I'm gay and glad I live in Garden City, Kansas. There is no place in Kansas that is more accepting of the gay life style than this emerald gem nestled by the blue flowing waters of the Arkansas River on the high plains of Kansas. You might rave about San Francisco but the city by the bay has nothing on our little town. I think my favorite thing about Garden City sits to the East about 20 miles, that is of course the Dighton Corner Pickle Park. This park was the first official Pickle Park in the Mid-West. It was established in 1860 by gay pioneers on their way to California. In August of 2007 Sen. Sam Brownback in his speech at the parks dedication said it better than anyone, "This is soooo awesome, there isn't a nicer pickle park anywhere. I mean if you want to cruise a pickle park this is the dude to go to". I mean, what can you add to that? Anyway, yes Garden City is gay friendly and as a true Garden City gay please accept my invitation and visit our little town or if you wish consider making this home. Love ya dudes.
