I really hope Frank Saballus doesn't muddy his wonderful Czech cuisine by adding Mexican food to his menu. I moved to Cicero in 1969 shortly after I was married and raised my family there. We finally moved in 1996 because our neighborhood was not safe anymore and we were being pushed out by the Hispanic influx. I remember the Klas Restaurant fondly, and ate there many times. Please keep the Czech history and cuisine pure. Cicero and its former inhabitants deserve that. The last time I was in Cicero was 2 years ago, and it's heartbreaking to see what has happened to the town. At least its nice to know something of the old Cicero is still there.

I know what Pinkpetunia meant. People eating at Klas want to find only authentic Czech meals. I love Mexican food and wouldn't dare order it from Klas, if it was on the menu. There are many fabulous Mexican Restaurants in the area and if wanting Mexican would visit those establishments.

Hi the man....I don't live in the area anymore but did visit about 5 months ago. Al's is still there, and we went in hoping they would still have the lunch buffet. It was still there and the pizza hasn't changed a bit. I was in heaven!

Al's Resturant is still in business and doing great. The pizza is as good as ever. About the only non-mexican resturants in town are Klas, Al's and Steak and Egger.

Everyone seems to be in love with mexican food right now. I find it boring and ok once in a while

Even the Houby Festival and Parade has turned into a giant Mexican festival! Why do they even still call it the Houby Festival? There's nothing left of the original purpose of the festival or the parade. Just another Mexican celebration!

"He said Cicero's cultural mix has inspired him to develop a new food fusion he calls "Czech-Mex." He hopes to incorporate it on his menu soon"
Hummm!! Czech-Mex! That'a a new one!
pinkpetunia,
Unlike you, this guy is smart enough to realize that in order for his business to "survive," he'll need to throw in some Mexican in it! Don't you know that?
Thank You!

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Gemini

You are in a dissatisfied mood, and are just spoiling for a fight today. However, be warned that this could backfire on you unpleasantly, especially if you take on superiors at work. At home, everyone is used to your behaviour and they generally make allowances for you, as they will today.
