Some in Cicero take issue with flying of Mexican flag in park

In a town once predominantly Eastern European but now mostly Mexican, there's a flag flap blowing in the wind.

I'm one of those bleeding heart liberals. But the thought of any other countries flag flying on public property funded by American taxpayers makes me want to puke.

I grew up in Cicero till the 90's when I moved. Cicero has always had a problem with flag flying in my oponion. During Cinco Demio the hispanics are aloud to drive around the town with there flag draped over the cars. But if the white people did it on the forth of July we were pulled over and was told to take it off the car. The hispanic population in that town has gotten out of control. My old house on 48th ct was a two story that was converted to a 4 apartment building. How terrible is that. Most of the people are there illigal. The gangs are pithetic and have gotten more out of control. When will Cicero clean up the trash. Instead they give the people there new schools and more places to fly there flag. Larry Dominick needs to get his administration in order and get back to cleaning up the filth there. The last mayor in Cicero was hispanic and look what he got in trouble for. Why doesn't the INS take a walk through that town and take those losers back where they belong

I'm an Obama-supporting Democrat, and I think the only flags flying on public property should be the American and Illinois flags. This makes me angry - if I moved to another country I would never expect them to fly an American flag.

We have brave young men and women fighting for this country.
It is a disgrace for you to allow any Flag to fly except the United States Of America.
It is not disrespect to any ethnic group but these people chose to come to this country and they should respect its values and laws.
If they feel they

Cicero was a decent working class town when I lived there during the 60's. I remember what a big deal the residents made when a black family moved in (and out very quickly). Who would have thought it would turn into the sewer it is today. This is AMERICA, the only flags that should be flown on town propery are the American flag and the Town of Cicero flag. Do you think the American flag is flown anywhere in Mexico??

I'm a Liberal and I don't think any flag except U.S., Illinois or Town of Cicero should be flying on this property. There are other ways the town can help celebrate Hispanic Heritage days...or St. Patrick's Day...or Polish Independence Day...besides flying a flag from another country. I doubt they ever flew a Czech flag for Houby Day, did they??

We need a law that only the American flags be allowed.
There should be a hefty tax to allow people to fly flags from other countries. If these people (mexicans, irish, italians etc.) are so proud of their countries of origin - then go back there.
There's a reason they are all here - it's because their countries of origin suck, otherwise they wouldn't have left.
